When I get too old and feeble to play tennis I’ll try pickle ball

When I get too old to play tennis (77 now), then I'll consider taking up pickleball and/or red ball tennis. I understand why pickleball has become so popular. However, tennis can be much more rewarding (and much more frustrating) because of the difficulty and work involved in learning how to hit the ball well. Anyway, I don't think that this red ball tennis will become too popular. It seems that pickleball is here to stay. But tennis will always be the king of racquet sports.

That's fair. When you're done with tennis you should play Red Ball if you'r not athletic enough to play pickleball. You don't want to get hurt.

@@boalexander9636 The kitchen. I want to be able to close and put it away like tennis. I can dink/drop all day but it would be frustrating to me not to close. I played paddle tennis, aka platform tennis, in the winter’s when I was a kid. This was played with a wood platform surrounded by chicken wire that you could play rebounds off of. No kitchen. I have seen recent video of “tech tennis” which looks much the same as paddle tennis-same type of drilled wood paddle and a larger, mushy ball about tennis ball size, but played on a pickle ball sized asphalt court. No kitchen. The point is to close the net. That looks like it would be some fun and I’m going to give it a try. I can see why pickleball is popular, but it’s not for me mainly due to the limitations it places on moving forward to volley. It goes against all of my instincts as a tennis player.

Ya no! Pickleball is an "easy" alternative to Tennis especially for folks who lack the fitness, mobility, coordination etc important to Tennis. Pickleball is like checkers - Tennis is like chess! Also hitting a pickle ball is annoyingly loud! Ball manufacturers are supposedly working on quieter versions, can't arrive soon enough!
