The rollercoaster called The Comet was at Crystal Beach. It was made of wood and was old when I went on it more than 45 years ago. It scared the hell outta me! In it's time it was quite the famous rollercoaster. It was torn down and the park was closed many years ago.

Wow living close to that town in st Catherine’s gave me memories of that carnival it’s sad it isn’t there anymore

It’s a water intake not a pump house. The water flows to the filtration pump hose on shore by gravity through a tunnel under the intake building to the shore which is a mile long. Before the 1950’s men lived there to deal with ice buildup and perform maintenance. There are bedrooms, lockers, workshops etc.

That's the Clarence Street bridge not the Lock 8 bridge. The "Lock 8" bridge(s) are on Mellanby Avenue and Main Street.

I know the food is good but someone made amistake on my order I order poetoes pancakes not pancakes so they said sorry it will be ready in 5 mins then is ready off the grill another 0mins going by sorry its on the grill now ,well its time to go husband already ate his breakfast and 2 coffies ,well now I'm ready to go no breakfast cause I waited to long ,the waitress was always on the go great person all she works hard and hardly any help ,hope she gets a raise for all she s does for people ,and 11 dollars for coffie and western sandwich ,

I haven't been there since the 80's.. wonder if it smells like pipe tobacco. It was comforting somehow going in there. In the 70's u could order smokes that were hot pink, green, n other colours. I believe they had gold tips. Cannot remember the brand but they looked great in a cigarette holder. Those were the days. Nice to c they r still there after all these yrs. Wow!!
