Worlds First G90 M5 On A Dyno - ???AWHP
Join us as we continue our dedication to providing independent dyno results for BMW's latest M models. As you can imagine, we had been counting the days leading up to our G90 M5's arrival, so you can imagine our excitement this past weekend after taking delivery.
While we have quite a lot of exciting developments to share in the coming weeks and months, our first weekend with the car mostly involved the terrible task of adding a few miles in anticipation for what should be the world's first independent dyno of the new G90 M5. As with a lot of our previous dyno adventures, we were back with our friends at Performance Eurowerks to see just how underrated the G90 M5 comes from BMW. After our experience with our G09 XM, we were eager to see what the G90's hybrid system had in store.
Our Best Runs Pre Break-in - Dynojet 424:
IND G90 M5: 696.13hp at 5230rpm // 729.59tq at 2420rpm
IND G09 XM: 614.84hp at 6500rpm // 569.14tq at 2380rpm
Assuming approximately 15% drivetrain loss from the xDrive system, that put's our G90 M5 at an insane 820hp and 859lb-ft of torque. Even if you're convinced that the xDrive system has reached a level of efficiency where it's only losing 10% through the drivetrain, the difference compared to the claimed 727hp and roughly 737lb-ft of torque from BMW is stark.
Unlike when we dyno tested our XM which was not fully charged, we were sure to have the G90's battery topped off prior to the trip to PE. Compared to our standard edition XM's dyno test last year and BMW's claimed numbers, it's clear the G90's output is much more inline with S68 Hybrid setup in BMW's XM Label (Red) which BMW quoted at 748hp / 1000Nm. Regardless of the comparison, and to no one's surprise, the G90 M5 follows BMW's recent tradition of almost criminally underrating its power outputs.

No downpipes here, just the Valved muffler, and non-resonated center pipes

How much does it cost to install the system?
Many factors influence labor rates domestically and internationally. We suggest getting quotes locally for this service. General installation times are about 2-3 labor hours.

Hey. Does this model for the US market have a GPF filter? I'm asking because the dyno test in Poland showed 730 hp on the crankshaft.
Looks like it's got a lot of room for tuning based on how the curve immediately flattens at 5.5k.
Making as much power as my friends Yaris GR lol.

I wonder what is the benefit to install the spacers?
Wheel spacers are all about looks. They push the wheels out closer to the fender, giving the car a more aggressive and clean "stance."
If this is right from a dealer don’t the cars have a break in period
Yeah, we are trying to get the miles in as quickly as possible so we figured that 138 on the dyno would help get us there quicker 🤣

696 max ? Why they say 717 for it ?
717 is what this was rated for at the crank. Wheel HP is generally 15-20% lower due to drivetrain loss. This means that the HP at the crank is likely over 800 HP

Thus only for the engine if u combine with hybrid system then total hp is 892 then torque is 932
I don't like the hybrid system, they needed to add it for the EU regulations, ruining the car...everything has to be electric or partially electric.
Thats the US version only. EU version wont have these numbers. I mean there are a few EU car tester and they did some acceleration tests. It was disappointing a lot. 3.4 / 3.5 0-100kmh and 11 seconds 0-200kmh. US versions allways are faster😅

It truly engages me when dealerships put regular in cars meant and tuned on higher octane fuels. Anyways, G90 is love ❤😅

Of course it is! Take delivery, hit the dyno.
0:59 the car has 230 miles, according to this timestamp. The break-in service is usually done at ~1000 miles. At what mileage was it done on this car?

@@obaidazori7426 Accounting for a 15% drivetrain loss, the crank HP would be approximately 818 HP. With a 20% loss, it would be around 870 HP. So, the engine produces roughly 818-870 HP before drivetrain loss, depending on the exact efficiency of the G90 chassis drivetrain.
