The Rage - Signals & Jagged Time Lapse (L.A. Proto-punk, 1978)
L.A. proto-punk band featuring Paula Pierce (R.I.P.) of Action Now & The Pandoras.
"In June 1977 Kim Fowley put on a Punk Rock Weekend at the Whisky A-Go-Go. He asked The Rage to get out of the garage and play their debut show there and, after hearing them audition over the phone, gave them a prime spot on the bill, which included The Weirdos, The Dils, The Wildcats and Low Budget, all MCed by Rodney Bingenheimer. Also making their first public appearance at the Punk Rock Weekend were The Germs, who played along side bands such as The Zippers. Bomp Records recorded the entire weekend of bands for a live compilation, but only a single by The Germs saw the light of day."
...
"The Rage was over. Sue concentrated on college, Robin went to cosmetology school, Don continued collecting records, seeing bands and going to college. Paula, however, wasn't going to give up on being in a band quite that easily.
While Paula considered her options, word got out that John Hewlett (of John's Children, Sparks and Milk 'n' Cookies fame) was putting together a compilation LP of local bands. In January 1978, the four members regrouped in a Simi Valley studio to record one of their final originals, Signals, and a cover of John's Children's Jagged Time Lapse. Manning the faders and running the four-track Teac 3340 was Bill Inglot (yes, the same Bill Inglot who went on to fame mastering records at Rhino Records, and produced The Pandoras' Stop Pretending album)."

La Notte dell'Anarchia (IT Hardcore Punk 1984)
In the spring of 1984, a sociology conference was held in Milano dedicated to Bande Spettacolari, a definition given to punk bands. Punx from Virus collective (the anarchopunk social center and venue, active 1982-87) organized a protest and managed to interrupt the conference by occupying the venue, the Teatro di Porta Romana. There was a big party (the night of anarchy) the same evening, and t...
Ex Enel 13/7/85 (1985 Italian hardcore punk compilation)
Mostly live compilation cassette released on Seminale Produzioni (1985) (Starts off sounding really noisy on the first Impact song, but dies down to only somewhat noisy so rad for the rest of their set, showcasing them at the height of their powers. The same follows for the rest of the tape up until the relative cleanliness of the A.C.T.H. songs. I cleaned it up the best I could from using just...
Meat Puppets - Aurora Borealis live 1983

Hell yeah, crunchy-ass sounding version of this banger. I'm all about it. Taken from the Basic Sampler cassette which is loaded with American, Italian, and Canadian bangers. So sick.
Killroy - Tijuana (1983, Woodland Hills, CA)

The Tom Cruise's "Losin' It" of punk songs. Pretty peculiar for a band that had a song about hating tourists in California. Placed alongside Solucion Mortal on the EAT ME comp, this song sounds like Southern California suburbanism at its "finest." (But, hey, the deep So Cal suburbs also gave us INFEST too, so it goes both ways, huh?)
Mercado Negro - Tijuana (1986, Baja California MX)

Rager of a pissed-off regional anthem off the first Mercado Negro album. A band from the border who needs more attention, IMO. All fotos from 1983-1989.

A song from their demo that's otherwise unreleased. Dude from Sorex had this shit on his blog, but erased this and other bangers...? (The internet's only getting shittier every day, harder to search through and whatnot, so why erase bangers from the public trust these days c'mon now!) Photo by the late, great Murray Bowles.

SUD X.T. - Velocità (rare Palermo, IT punk ca. 1982)
'SUD X.T.’s first incarnation was formed in 1980 in Palermo with founding members Vortex, Aldo Ammirata, and Maurizio Adrizzone. SUD X.T.’s early sound reflected the heavy influence of French drum machine-punk pioneers Metal Urbain, as they fused the rock’n’roll rhythm of their drum machine with a pulsating bass and double guitar attack, rounded out by the group’s nihilistic/futuristic lyrics. ...

Grandissimo upload. Grazie
heard a song of theirs and it sounded like Danzig so I click on this one and it sounds like Lemon demon. like someone else said, they DO transcend genre!
Grandissimo. Grazie per questo upload
Tutto fantastico: musica, video, foto e locandine, Grazie mille davvero.
Stupenda.
Grandissimi bellissimi ricordi dì quando ero giovane. Bellissimi ricordi!.
this is the best music video that was ever made and the minutemen are the best band ever made
Great song--thanks for sharing. I've been a Dils fan for thirty-some-odd years, but I'm hearing this for the first time.
2:02 where are you now? out yourself in these comments
Wow what a flashback I was the drummer on this demo great to hear this after all these years thanks for posting it 👍🏽
Shite.
Not enough George in this video
greatest guitar solo ever?
Thank god these guys met. R.I.P D.Boon
Did Ronnie Stop D Boon in his tracks? I can't really believe the van just flipped over and D Boon was killed while others survived. I need answers. I watched the main stream media documentary "There's NO WAY Regan killed D" and I'm not totally convinced to say the least Question. Did Ronald Reagan kill D Boon?
This is fresh as ever
Fat isn't punk. And just more forgettable "music"
Fat is punk as fuck.😂
Great!! Anything live survive from Fowleys 77 fest like ya'll , weirdos or Dils?
D rolling down the hills at the end of the vid made my day 🤗 i used to do that when i was a kid
best video ever
The microphone loved his voice. True.
Absolute legend
I remember the day D died, we partied. With marijuana. With a clenched fist. At our age... history of our world.
If you don't know the minutemen, you don't know real punk. Even better if you have seen them in their fucked up glory.
Saw them in ‘85 in Columbia, MO at the original Blue Note. Great show. What a good time to be a punk. Saw bands like Husker Du and The Meat Puppets and Flipper and of course Black Flag. A few years later saw firehose and Sonic Youth. Got to hang with them after the show.
My dad talks about this show every now and then and claims someone threw themselves off of the stage and ended up paralyzed, is this true for anyone that was there?
no
Wow never knew this existed. So cool. D boon for milessss
So underrated D Boon tragically gone too soon RIP
So good
Bei tempi
Sounds like the Adolescents!
❤👍

BRILL XX
As a Jr. High Kid at Baptist Church camps in the summer we once had a memorable counciler who seemed a bit unique for a Baptist group (even a giant, "moderate" West Coast Baptist Church group). He was in his early 20's and he had a real Woody Guthrie, grizzled "king of the road" vibe. Naturally he played folk guitar and entertained us with some intriguing songs, notably this gem by Hoyet Axton. The ironic and dark refrain, "You're never going to leave San Fernando" resonated heavily with me and my fellow campers as we were all Valley Boys. Anyhow, I dug this up and listened to it yesterday for the first time in over 55 years. It remains a great song. Surprisingly biting.
"I had to read the lines between the lies" is brilliant!
I saw them once or twice.
I saw them once open for the Bad Brains.
New band for me. Sounds great. I'm looking for stuff from Problematik Gen. I have the Bersaglio Nucleare compilation and the split tape with Stillers. Both bands playing playing live for 10 minutes. But maybe there is more ???
Would you want to share those MP3s? I'd really love to hear those! Let me know!
ripping material
One of the most overrated bands ever. Absolute shit.
Minutemen - King Of The Hill 0838am 18.7.23 this is when it went all funny.... and somewhat accessible. not that the band's music was totally outre or effed up or avant garde... i never got promo vids, though... still don't. this is kindda akin to some public info film which teaches kids to enjoy the differences inherent in man... stick to making music, guys...
Psychic War Is a Solo Song by Giovanni Romano of Immagine TV, Real Title of "Ossata" Is "Ho Sete"

Awesome! Do you by any chance have more tracks from this?
I might. Dm me

One of the absolute greatest bands ever; Og I love them still.
