Exactis Innovation
Canada
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 16 ก.พ. 2023
Exactis Innovation (Exactis) is a Canadian non-profit focused on improving cancer survivorship by empowering the healthcare ecosystem to make data-driven decisions through real-world insights. Exactis and its Network of Hospital Partners across Canada have created the most comprehensive pan-Canadian real-world insights generation platform.
As a member of The Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health (CADTH) Post-Market Drug Evaluation (PMDE) Program, we are the trusted Canadian partner for oncology real-world evidence (RWE) studies. We help partners overcome time delays and insufficient data problems that limit the value of RWE studies.
We believe everyone has a role to play in fighting cancer. This is ours.
High Quality Data + Timely Insights = Improved Treatment Decisions = Better Patient Outcomes

An Announcement from Exactis Innovation
Today, I share a deeply bittersweet update about Exactis Innovation. After ten transformative years as a cancer research network funded by the Business-Led National Centres of Excellence (BL-NCE) Program, we must announce that Exactis will close its doors early in the new year.
Exactis began with a bold vision: to provide patients with access to molecular testing, opening the door to trials for targeted therapies when such testing was not yet standard. Over the years, we adapted, evolved, and ultimately became a trusted source of decision-grade real-world evidence for cancer care.
What we’ve accomplished together:
• Built a network of 16 cancer centers across six provinces and curated a databank of over 11,000 patients.
• Partnered with Canada’s Drug Agency (CDA) to inform real-world oncology market access decisions.
• Showcased the immense potential of a pan-Canadian collaboration in leveraging patient data for the greater good.
These milestones were only possible because of the unwavering support of so many. To the patients who entrusted us with their data, the coordinators and PIs at our sites, the Exactis team, our Board, and our partners-thank you. Your commitment made our mission not just possible, but meaningful.
As we face the financial realities that have brought us to this decision, we remain committed to ensuring our databank continues to serve research and improve outcomes in cancer care. We will share details about its availability for future use as soon as possible.
Exactis has proven that Canada's patients, researchers, and institutions can unite to break down barriers and drive innovation. My hope is that this legacy inspires others to dream big and create the next chapter in cancer research.
To those ready to envision an "Exactis 2.0," I wish you courage and success. Let’s continue striving for a future where real-world data empowers breakthroughs and transforms lives.
With gratitude and hope,
Kostas Trakas, PhD
