In the upcoming Training Tuesday webinar “Studying Intensive English in the United States”, you can learn why English is so important, why students and professionals should study English in the United States, what courses intensive English programs in the United States offer, how to apply for a visa, how students can transition from intensive English programs to university degree programs, and more. Speaker Bio:
Born in East Germany, Sebastian Burkholdt majored in German and history during his teacher education program at the Otto-Friedrich University in Bamberg, Germany. In 2010, he came to the United States for the first time to complete a Master of Arts in German Language and Literature at the University of Georgia (UGA). During this time, he taught German as a second language at UGA. After graduating in 2012, he returned to Germany to complete his teacher education program. In 2015, he returned to UGA to begin his Ph.D. in Educational Theory and Practice which he completed in 2022. During these eight years, Sebastian taught German as a second language and teaching methods to social studies pre-service teachers at UGA. He was also a research assistant at UGA's Office of Academic Honesty. Since February 2023, Sebastian is the Assistant Director of UGA's Intensive English Program.
