Interesting review. One point though. They are not holograms. Early in this project, ABBA discounted that technology as not fulfilling what they wanted. Holograms are essentially projections and even though they can have a 3D look, they don't look solid objects. 'Voyage' involves 'digital copies' on a very sophisticated screen with the lighting system in the auditorium carried on into the screen. I've been a number of times to this show and I'd advise first timers to not look at the big side screens too much but concentrate on the avatars themselves when they are 'on stage'. Actually I think, in terms of the songs themselves, 'Voyage' blows 'Mamma Mia' out of the water, mainly because the house band is clearly a part of it and because, the vocals of the original voices simply can't be beaten. Although I appreciate the musical for introducing ABBA songs to new generations, us older fans feel these brilliant concerts are ABBA 'taking back' their songs and allowing youngsters to see what the group were like in their prime. In fact the real triumph of this show is that very soon after the start, you forget about the technology and get emotionally moved. The audience collectively allows itself to suspend the disbelief and for 90 mins, it's pure escapism. You're right that it can't quite match what a real ABBA concert was in 1977 or 1979 but the fact that there is a superb live backing band there and that 3,000 other fans are sharing that same communal experience is the reason why so many have been multiple times.

I broke down in tears - of joy - in fron of my son. He had never seen me break down. The consert is amazing. Go there and live happily ever after♥️♥️🇸🇪🇸🇪 You actually believe they are there, on stage. And the arena is so full of love. I will treasure it for the rest of my short life

I love this musical so much!! I’ve only found out about it yesterday and im addicted to the soundtrack, I can’t find anything about it including the lyrics, for this particular song im having trouble finding out what he says after “slowly my grief she is taking” if someone could help it would be greatly appreciated!!
