so… I love all these versions, but can anyone explain where the in the flying fuck the version streaming on Apple Music came from? I cannot shake the sense it was partially AI generated and yet it’s also really fucking good. The artist is A Man Named Jonz, and all of his other content both there and on TH-cam is clearly created with AI, so it’s an open question if he used it for the vocals, which seem a little off, but I could not tell you how. Also, I have no idea if the release dates line up to the recent identification.

iirc the ndr version, the radio broadcast version from the original tape, can't have been recorded earlier than 1984 because of a specific synthesizer used in it, so it's later than the Demo EP version. it also has the slight lyrics changes that carried over for the 1985 live version. so if there's a definitive version to be found, it'd be a high quality recording of that one. there's already a recording with a slightly longer intro but i'd be curious to hear if a full recording features an extended outro like all the other alternate versions.

Always thought it was "there's no sense of new division" like maybe broken English for "there's no sense in new division" with the whole vibe kind of sounding like it's about a guy who's cut off from the rest of the world

The song is found, _however_ the original master tape that contained the version that was broadcast on NDR (which we knew from the cassette recordings) is missing, and it's likely it's been destroyed. That means that we'll never get a higher quality recording than the 2021 tape recording of the version that was aired and that started the whole search.

What is the difference with the original NDR recording and the 2021 tape? They are both from Lydia right? Would they not be the same version as it was just the one recording she and her brother had? Am I missing something?
