I wish the dyna tek 2000 for gsxr sling shot I'm at a loss and need help

I’m really puzzled. Why isn’t piston bending those intake valves as you’re rotating crank? Because the tool is holding the valve open how is it possible to turn crank and not cause binding?

I just did a check on my 1300 and every exhaust clearance is tight. Is this something I should worry about.cyl 4 is .11mm and should be.16 to .20mm

I'm going to be helping someone swap out my 1250. Do you have any videos that will show me what I'm in for?

I’m thinking of buying a really cheap 90s FJ1200 to toy around with just because I like those classic bikes and I’m curious about those engines being rebuildable if they have high miles. My neighbor is a huge GS1100 fanboy and doesn’t think anything of any other engines. Should I stay away from them or can he be proven wrong?

The mixture of imperial and metric always makes me laugh. It's a metric engine. Leave the imperial rubbish back in the stone age.

Would only change a shim when the play is not enough. If it is a little wider doesn`t matter... He said he would change from a 278 to a 280, that is a difference of 0,02 mm, a human hair is 0,07 mm .

What cams are you running there, are they after market. The duration and lift look a bit wilder than my xjr 1300. I am thinking of fitting a pair of fj1100 cams

Is the 106/108 the valve centres, when you say your 88 your 88 what, must be fj

I bought a Dyna 2000 ignition system for my 85 FJ1100. The timing procedure for the ignition is straight forward thanks to this video and the Dyna instructions. I set the pickup coil at 35 degrees as Dyna recommended. I set the gap on each side the the rotor with two .015 feeler gauges. My problem is I am unable to line up the marks for the 1-4 and 2-3 coils with the pickup coil as I run out of adjustment room on each pickup. The timing light on the Dyna unit lights up about one or two degrees early for both pickups. The 1-4 pickup on the right wants to be pushed all the way up and the 2-3 pickup on the left all the way down. Any help or insight would be appreciated. Thanks, Mike

funny...i just put a 1250 block on my 89...did the head....multi angle v/job ,some bowl work...jetted it perfect and added 5* timing..kept the cams around 106/108... hauls the freight pretty well. My guess was 150 hp . i do wonder how much gets lost thru parasitic ?

There seems to be some debate about the position of the cam lobe when taking the measurement, whether better pointed directly away from the valve shim, or with the engine at TDC (not shown), as per the factory service manual. I think the position shown here makes more sense as that's where the clearance is at its maximum.

You mention rotating the engine counter-clockwise but from the camera's angle you are rotating it clockwise. So which reference point of view should be used to determine CW vs. CCW? Thanks. And why shouldn't you use an open end wrench on the intake cam? Just curious.
