Started in 1971 in Birmingham, AL, Utility Tool Company is a small, privately owned firm. We design, manufacture, and sell patented electronic equipment under the trade name Pipehorn for locating and troubleshooting underground utilities from above ground. Utility companies, contractors, maintenance crews, and professional locators, throughout the U.S. use Pipehorn equipment to increase productivity and prevent damage. We utilize our expertise in electromagnetics and electronics in conjunction with our knowledge of underground utility location and construction to develop and sell equipment to our target markets.

I do the irrigation for the nursery i work at. They want me to run a 2" line between two green houses and through a mine feild of electrical and communication lines. Im using the Pipehorn 800 series and I have 0 experience.
This is good man, just got a pipe horn 800H. I have to locate a lot of streetlight electric. Never thought about the open circuit, and the box sideways. Thanks so much for the share
I always slide the base of the light pole up and direct connect to one of the four anchor bolts. If I have to induce I place my transmitter on the concrete pole base. Also, if inducing a signal, always double access or locate back to the pole from your most distant signal to ensure you haven’t bled off of a different utility. Pipehorn is the best tool for private utility locating in my opinion and I have been a customer for many years and I will always have a Pipehorn in my truck!
