Adjust the shift pawl on your tube frame Buell up to 2002. Often times hard shifting can occur from a poorly adjusted shift pawl. Additionally, pins on the shift drum often back out, causing the detent plate to turn, which can make the bike jump out of gear (commonly 2nd gear). Ask questions below!

you have forgotten the second Clamp on the upper Fuellhose !?!?
No. I provide a second clamp in the kit for owners who want a clamp on both the output of the pump and on the regulator housing. However, we show this without the clamp on the plastic regulator housing because this is the factory set up. The plastic housing on the regulator body can be over crimped, causing the housing to crack.

Great video. Question: why no hose clamp on the pressure regulator side of the pump hose?
The conventional wisdom is that it’s not used because it’s a plastic fitting that may crack when the clamp is applied. You can put a clamp there, just be very careful when doing so.

To remove wear ring and install new one I found it easy to put both rings into freezer and they both just slide in
yessir, this is how i do it, freeze the housing with impeller removed and new wear ring, the old one will simple punch out and the new one will slide in pretty easy, if your stressed on time then i cut the old one out and use a shop press and grease to press the new ring in
I took my water pump apart. in my case, the plastic ring can be removed and put back easily by hand. The ring has only a few scratches. what does this mean? Should I definitely replace the ring? (sea doo spark 2016)

About ten years ago I did my 05 Lightning. The bike had been sitting for a couple of years and the fuel system was bad. I put in a $26 v6 mustang pump and a few buck filter from the auto parts store. The regulator came from some place on line and was maybe $30. The big o rings from some other on line. All together I would guess it was maybe $70 to $80. Back in those days $300 factory original entire assembles were available everywhere. I think some of them came from bikes that harley crushed. Having a whole brand new assembly was very tempting but it was a little out of my budget. The new injectors were reasonably inexpensive which is why I rejected cleaning the originals. All this stuff still works after 600 hours on the clock. I am not sure about the miles since the bike has no instrumentation except for a engine hour meter.

I got an 01, and its been a nightmare to get going! Been trying to get this fixed, and she shifter shaft stripped! Now their is no spring pressure, and will not do crap!
Easy way to cut out the plastic housing is to use a Weller soldering iron with the plastic cutting blade. Works very fast and you can remove the plastic without damaging the metal with the saw.
What gun and tip?

if i have to cut it out i use a die grinder with a wood type cutting blade, it removes alot of plastic fast, i typically cut a x pattern in the the ring then wedge a cheapo long flat head screw driver to pry it and fold it inward.
Nice video. I will be ordering a kit from you. I have a 2007 Buell Lightning STT, 8000 km in storage the last 10 years with no fuel in the tank. Pump does not work. After taking everything apart to get to the pump I have run into a problem. I Can not figure out how to unplug the pump from the wire harness. One of the crazy connectors. It’s not by catalyst, but by size. 100/130/170 is one size, 230 is a different larger size
@@aagaardmotofoundry Unfortunately for me, 2022 Compact Sport 170hp there are two diagrams with two different impeller part numbers. The problem is that I don't even know what the "catalyst" is, so how would I know if I have one UGH! lol "2022 SEA-DOO 170HP PROPULSION - MAIN SYSTEM - 100HP AND 170HP - WITHOUT CATALYST" and "2022 SEA-DOO 170HP PROPULSION - MAIN SYSTEM - 100HP AND 170HP - WITH CATALYST"

Also I installed the kit that I got from you and had to drill through the rubber boot where the harness goes and added a cable because one was torn off and used jb weld tank bound. I tried to contact you through the website

@@highfivebroo the harnesses are obsolete. We suggest you get a used pump and install our kit on that unit.

Oem parts, we sent the impeller to IMPROS in california
Put the new ring in the freezer for a while. It will drop right in. No pressing needed.

Just clamp the edge of the wear ring in a vise and hit pump with a dead blow pulls ring out works with impeller in also
Would it have been easier to to put the housing on the boar and then put on the nozzle? Since you had to rotate the impeller to get the housing to seat, having the nozzle off would allow you better access to be able to turn the impeller.
You still have the long plastic nose cone in the way, and a good amount of cage so not having the cone on wouldn’t save that much time. Someone try it without and let us know!

I have to know, such a new machine why the impeller rebuild?
Could happen in the first 30 minutes- we sucked something up- but probably crusied around for the last month of the season with it like that. If you own a jet boat you have to know how to fix this as it is just part of the reality of it all.

I saw a video that showed if you put the wear ring in the freezer, it will drop right in, but you have to wait for it to come back to room temp before putting everything back together.
We sent the impeller off for service to Impros for the repair. We show you the Solas WR011 tool for the 100/130/170, and the 230’s should take the WR012 per the Facebook group.
I followed your same steps and when trying to start the motorcycle it did not start, I checked that pressure came out of the fuel line and it does not come out but if you hear the pump working, I checked everything again and it is well assembled, do you know what it could be?
I would make sure the regulator is seated fully, sounds like it bypassed back to the overflow

It’s worth mentioning, that when the valves are in the “rocking” position, i.e. both valves are open, the engine is 360 degrees from TDC on the compression stroke. So when valve rock occurs turning the engine exactly one revolution will put the piston where you you want it for valve adjustment.

I bought a fuel pump kit, HFP-361 from quantum fuel system on ebay. Do you think it would work?
The pumps are Chinese, and they don’t include much of what you’ll need unfortunately…
Very nice video. I am glad i now know how to rebuild a fuel pump using quality Aagaard Moto Foundry parts, sourced from the USA, made in the USA. Remember folks, the most important part of the install is having your shop cat for emotional support.
If your watching this in 2021,that retaining clip that holds shifter detent plate in place,is now an obsolete part from H-D. Hit the dealer up,as they do break,and get 3 or 4 of them IF they have any in stock.
