I Broke My Back...
Hi everyone ❤️ , A bit of an update since my last post. Last Sunday, I crashed at the start of the US Pro Cup, and despite being in a lot of pain, I believed I was fine. I have crashed so many times before, I had no reason to believe this was any different. I thought that the pain in my back was just bruising, and I assumed it would go away with a few day's rest. Well, as time went on and my other bruises faded, my back pain actually got worse instead of better. Not really believing anything was actually wrong, I went to get an x-ray on Wednesday just to rule out the possibility of a break. Needless to say, I was pretty shocked when the doctor told me I had fractured the transverse process on my L1, L2, and L3 vertebrae. This is also known as a rotation spine fracture. Well, that explains the back pain. 🤷♀️
After the initial shock, I really just feel lucky. The CT scan confirmed that I have no compression between vertebrae, I have no spinal cord damage, and I didn’t need surgery! I feel so fortunate given the circumstances. I will have to wear this super sick brace for an unknown amount of time, and when I can resume exercise/riding is still TBD. In the meantime, you’ll catch me trying to find a nonphysical hobby... 🥵
I have a lot to learn and figure out about this injury, but what I do know is that I will come back stronger from this... whenever that may be,💪🏼 I went through so much these past 2 years to get back on the start line. This setback merely adds a few more weeks to the timeline.
Down but not out. 🥊
Thank you for the support, xoxo. ❤️

Your Dad is right this is the new normal... Cancer x2 and now an autoimmune disease... Seems like 5 steps forward and 10 back on days.... But this is what it is is... Keep moving forward
Thank you for sharing. Greetings from Germany.
How much does nutrition play in your recovery?
Nice to see ypu on youtube again Ellen. Good tip!
My parents actually raise me on racing that can hurt.
This is super cool! I didn’t know you were making yt shorts now 🙃
I’m trying 😀 should I do more?
uploading content on youtube or is this an old channel ?
What were your symptoms when you wondering what was wrong with your body?
What bikes are you riding
Good luck Ellen . AI issues are hard and I really hope your lifestyle changes solve those issues for you.
Oh no, sorry to hear about this. Wishing you a speedy recovery, and I'm sure you'll be stronger than ever when you return.
So sorry to hear this. Stay strong and get well as quickly as possible.
Speedy recovery!! You won’t be down for long!
Giving this a thumbs up feels weird but you know what we mean...feel better soon!
Guessing your're on an E bike?
Ha, no I’m not! I guess I’m just that quick 😜
@@EllenRoseNoble Wow that's impressive. That climb on the backside up that steady rock garden is legit. I don't claim to be strong or fast but that wipes me out and you make it look easy. I mean you ride around your BF like he's sitting still....lol. Are you guys local riders?
Great first Chat with Patrick . Good luck with your channel.
During times like these when you are faced with yet another challenge, how do you shift your personal view of success to stay motivated and on the path towards individual progress?
When I first saw the crash I was amazed you’d walked away given it was so hard and kinetic with multiple bikes and riders. Could have been way worse - glad you got specialist diagnosis and know that whatever it takes you’ve got it. PS Those drops you were doing were Neffesque - be great when you recover to see some footage of how you build and improve those skills. Take care and get well soon.
It's heartbreaking, but I'm glad it wasn't worse. Interesting in hearing about how you're working through it mentally and what you'll be doing rehab wise to get back on the bike, even if it's the trainer at first. Best wishes. You're way tougher than me.
Ah no, that really sucks. I also cracked / broke some of those a few years back when I was hit by a car. I never got a back brace though so healing probably took longer than it needed to. Good luck with your recovery.
Is that an Eris the Borzoi jumper?
YES!
That crash looks nasty. Hope for a smooth recovery. I have to ask- favorite Onyx coffee? I couldn’t help but spot the boxes in the video
this was a gift for some friends, but we loved the souther weather and brought some home!
Heal up quick. Tough stuff.
Oof--that crash at speed is hard to watch. I'm really sorry it happened. I have admired the build up to this point, including videos and IG posts about your growing form and refining skills. I was looking forward to seeing what you could do with it. I'll stay tuned to see how you manage this latest challenge. good luck!
Glad you're (somewhat) okay and I hope you heal quick!
Good luck with your recovery. The rider that caused the crash looks like she chopped you from the side. This isn't a beginner race hold your line stay loose expect other riders to bump into you especially during the start.
Stay Strong 💪😊
Man, could’ve been worse, but this was not what I expected to hear today!!! You will have the best posture when that brace comes off 👍
🙏 so sorry to hear this news. Your to attitude is in inspiration. You'll be back in the saddle soon! 🏇
Hope you feel better!
Looks fun.
The guy in the orange shirt in front of you seems cool...
What will future anthropologists think we moved all this dirt for on the top of this one hill in Fayetteville?
They'll call it the "Outdoors Era"
Legit glad just to see you happy, keep up the good work.
You have such an enlightened view of your disease and what means. Super impressive. Best of luck! No matter what happens you'll be smart as hell and clearly a badass cyclist with so much proven success.
Great to see you happy.I’m curious why are watts such a big secret?
Horrible conditions, beautiful Dogs
Thanks for sharing. And good luck improving.
So glad you are riding again. Watts per k is a key... looking forward to your next video
Tortilla or charred marshmallow? 🤔
More behind the scenes footage! Great to see you back!
I got my girlfriend that same blanket because she always says she's going to wrap herself up in a blanket like a burrito lol
So happy that you're happy training again! You got this 💪
Great to see you back on bike! Where can i buy a helmet like yours with this design??
Tell the Sun I say hi, I miss her
What are those water bottes at 1:05???
They’re called Bivo, they’re stainless cycling bottles and I’m OBSESSED!
Looking forward to your year, bike racing fun but you have to suffer for it. That’s what makes it fun. Thanks
Dude I wish I was that happy doing intervals!!
It’s what sunny days do to me 😇
@@EllenRoseNoble it’s also what makes you a pro and me... not a pro.
I am so happy seeing you up in the saddle having fun again!!
Thank you! ❤️ feels so good
More workouts! Keep smiling! This is great hope you can find time to keep it up!
