I would like simulated space and orbits like in ksp, I always have felt that it feels off in se that you cant have something orbit a planet. But this would probably not at all work with the speed limit (you need to accelerate a lot to reach a distant target or you will just never reach it and eventually return to where you started) Then it would probably also ruin the way you fight in space. So maybe it should be a optional realistic setting (like the realistic sound in se1) or a hybrid so that it isnt realistic when you're far away from any planet or moon, but that you can atleast make something orbit a planet/moon. The moons orbiting around the planets and them orbiting around a star would also be nice (I remember when a friend and I wanted to go to the moon and realized it was on the other side of the planet, we decided to wait for it to come to our side and learned the hard way se1 didn't have moons orbitting planets)
In a way, you can make stuff orbit planets in vanilla SE1, by using the ai blocks and setting it's way points around the planet. But that's so tedious. Speaking of the orbiting thing, that might be a thing in SE2, they'd talked about the idea a few months ago. And modders have managed to make it work in SE1, so that very well could be a feature coming in the future when we get planets!

The weight was trowing it off, and actualy you would want a loser connection not a tighter one, if you use the piller blocks it should smooth it out even more. and great vid i like how more creative people get the less tools they are provided with.

so from a code perspective, the massive switch in grid systems probably means most old blocks couldn't be ported. I don't know if thats why but its the issue I'd see as a programer.
I would agree. But I'm pretty sure the blocks are an exact copy and paste (the armor blocks) so it should have been pretty minimal work to get the other armor blocks shapes, pasted over, just with new texturing. Which the texturing seems to be a shared massive texture between the blocks. I completely understand other non functional blocks. But armor shape... Iv already seen people making mods (not usable yet) with all the old armor shapes and blocks working in SE2
You can always access appdata If you type into the file explorer %appdata% doesnt matter in what folder you are Or Windows + r and type %appdata%

Hey! Awesome to see you succeed! I'm a very small creator myself, but speaking from my experience, the most important thing is thumbnails and titles. Hardest thing is to get someone click on your video. Second hardest thing is to have it be interesting enough to have them stay and watch the whole thing 😊

SE2 has by far not the same amount of content it would have to load, of course it is a super fast :D
That's true. But I was more on about how my crappy PC was able to load it so quick whilst recording and on high graphic settings lol
@@NivJake oh boy, such a bad one?^^ my setup so far only starts to ramp up the fans, and the not so optimized handling or larger block amounts when previewing or placing is the real issue.
se2 is all hype no backbone..it will be abandoned just like medieval engineers were abandoned ..the moment the game doesn't get traction..its how keen does buisness ..stay away till it gets proper release
I genuinely enjoy the game. My hype for it, is genuinely just how much I enjoy playing the game. And if it's abandoned, it's not like mods won't keep it a float for some time. 9+ years keen fan here. Unlike medieval engineers, this game has a load of features already tucked away in the game files, just waiting for release. I truly don't believe they'll abandoned this game. After all they are a business, and they have basically milked SE1 dry. And SE2 is generating ALOT of sales. Toss some dlc in soon and it'll be just like SE1 for them in terms of money income
Handy tutorial and mod. Something that'll be helpful for the problem at 4:50 where AppData doesn't show up. Go to View in File Explorer and check the box on the right of the ribbon "Hidden Items." There all of the folders and files Microsoft likes to hide will appear. But searching via the file path like you did is a viable option as well.

Remove the thrust and gyros from all the cars behind the locomotive. Also, the center of mass on all must be lined up with main trust vector from the locomotive engines so it won't drift in any plane when accelerating... (just make them as symmetrical as you can) Try again with this in mind please.

Even without the dampers, it's still pretty jank. I'm pretty sure with some more testing, and work. A large functional subgrid trailer system can be achieved in a more smooth manner. Just takes some trial and error!

Whats the physical shapes limit at in se 2.0
Currently there's no information panel in the game to tell us stuff like that. So I'm not sure. Id assume from my experience so far, that it's around the same if not a bit more then SE1 currently

Great tutorial, I'm having an issue with my grid not showing up in game after clicking place blueprint. I'm thinking grid limit as it is like 200,000 blocks.😂. That's with non SE2 blocks of course but even when false it all it doesn't paste and will lag the game out. But in SE1 it'll load ok.
@jonathannunnery696 if I may suggest. Break your ship into multiple blueprints and then place them together like a puzzle piece! Let me know if that works or if you figure out a work around!

Yeah played the game once but atm its really basic but it looks great. I think the reason they didnt take stuff from the old game is due to the new grid system so they need to figure out how to make them work with the new system. but yeah hope we see more stuff soon.
that's a fair point, but I feel like armor shapes and the panels wouldn't be any harder then them putting the current armor blocks in the game
@8:02 The spherical gravity generator was already a thing in Space Engineers 1. The really cool thing for me is the addition of a cylindrical gravity field, which when the field is inverted is PERFECT for ring stations simulating centrifugal force ala 2001: a Space Odyssey. 👨🚀
that's a great point, I had not considered the idea of using it for stuff like ring stations. I wonder if it could be used with the addition of space arti gravity blocks, to create a slingshot cannon
if you try it with a single connection insted of a dobble, i belive it wod be more stable becuse the flexibility 🤔

I think it would also be more stable if you used the round tube blocks for the connection part. I think the cubes are causing it to shake because it has no room for clearance rotate. When you turn, the trailer wants to follow behind like a real trailer but the cubes are forcing it to remain straight causing the shaking. Another problem might be the gyros on the trailer fighting against you.
I have a second video releasing tomorrow, where I test further into the trailer idea. And manage to get it working. Stick around and check it out, you may find that gyros have no effect !

They should just add the mod for the shields in SE1 as well as the rival Ai the one that drops the bots down to attack your grids

Going to have to wait a few updates until they actually add more than 20 blocks in the second game. I was so disappointed at how little it had when it was released. But, until they add parts to the second game, it won’t move over all the blocks tot he second game and therefore your ship will be a quarter of the way built or less depending on if you used blocks not in the second find game
Your absolutely right, it is a bit disappointing how few blocks there are. I genuinely think they should and COULD have added many more non functional blocks, like truss, armor shapes, armor panels and so on. But I also understand the lack of content AT THE MOMENT, as this has been advertised as a playable version of the game whilst it's still in development and its purpose is for us to give feedback and test stuff. I guess it'll come down to how long they take to add content. If we are waiting 6-8 months for 2 "new" features and maybe 7 blocks. It's an absolute joke. But if it's every couple of months, and their dumping content into the game per update, then I think it's fine

@@glitchbread5724 and? still no content. why push it out in that useless state? even the old one lacks hard in therms of content and that after a bazillion years of "developement". not to mention the performance goes a deep nosedive after a certain amount of blocks build. how many years until we can merge grids? walk on planets? use scripts in a way even casuals can use them? that thing is dead for at least 2 more years while they pump out 5 or more cosmetic dlcs.
@ An alpha is to give fans a choice in its development I won't try cover up the lack of work that's been done but I do believe that it will be good. Though your argument is good and I respect it.
