I attempted to to acquire motorcycle insurance for my 2015 Harley-Davidson. I filled out all the information requested on their website and they gave me a quote of $108.00 for a 12 month policy which I was happy about. Then their site did a search and found that I had a previous insurance claim with my current vehicle, so my quote was increased to $780.00! I've had no accidents and no citations for over 15 years. The claim I had was due to a cracked windshield that I suffered from a truck that I was following which was no fault of mine. However, HD insurance penalize people for unfortunate situations that was not due to the operator's negligence. I will never, ever apply for another Harley-Davidson policy due to their moronic regulations. I always thought Harley stood up for their riders. Obviously they care more about money then they do their customers.

I am 6 ft tall and about 220 LBS. it seems like every new Harley Davidson I sat on seems small for me. I have a 2005 Kawasaki 800 Vulcan classic I bobbed out with a Blue Collar Bobber kit and it seems large with more leg room. Plus I only have about $5000.00 in the bike Including Cobra slash cut drag pipes and Cobra floor boards, Coker classic white wall tires and a new paint job, it is like a brand new bike. To spend $16,000 on a Harley just for the name seems ridiculous. I get thumbs up from people every time I ride it. The metric bikes already have a counter balanced motor that sounds great and doesn't vibrate. Plus it has a mono shock suspension. If Kawasaki was doing this in 2005 why is Harley Davidson just now doing it? They are asking way to much for their bikes. I would think $11,500 for this bike would be fair. $16,000 plus tax and title and dealer prep make it not a good value for the money in my opinion. I have just as much fun riding mine as you do riding yours and I don't look like every other rider on the road and I didn't have to spend a lot and pay 3.99% interest to buy it. If i wanted belt drive and fuel injection which is the same as yours I could pick up a Kawasaki 900 Vulcan classic new for about $8000 and add a Blue Collar Bobber kit and have a very nice bike cheaper then this one. Harley needs to pull their head out of their asses and get real. Buying a bike for a brand name and paying to much is for suckers.

Reminds me of the day I watched my '85 FLHTC being uncrated at Moto sport plus on Bank street, May-31, 1986. A proud moment. I still have the pictures. And the bike. Congratulations!
