I was a still a kid when this came out but I was old enough to attend my first concert when the new wave hit.

Saw this lineup in ‘77 with James Gang and Montrose.

Lonesome Dave’s songs like this one, Fool for the city are deceptively simple. They are not that easy to play correctly. He was a huge talent.

Back then, the film crews had the attitude that the band consisted of 3 musicians. So no need to cover the guy in the back. He’s not part of the band. “He’s just a drummer. No body cares.” 🤨

Craig McGregor was a great choice to replace Tony Stevens and Nick Jameson. Craig and Tony were a day apart in age.

Passed me by. Listening to Van Morrison, Bob, Little Feat, Allmans, Doobies, Cooder, JJ Cale, etc in the 70’s. Only vaguely recall Foghat’s name. Seem like a cross between Free, Led Zep? Plenty energy, beat, lead guitar stuff. Good at what they do, but just don’t hear much originality. Sorry. On balance, pref Rory Gallagher’s axe.

A pretty damn good performance especially when you consider that Rush was the last band to be added to the lineup. According to drummer Neil Peart, "When we were first asked to play Molson Canadian Rocks for Toronto, it seemed impossible to say yes. We had been off the road for 8 months, our gear was in the warehouse, most of our crew was out on other tours, and even we were all over the place - Geddy with his family in France, Alex working in the studio mixing our Rio de Janeiro show, and me on my motorcycle in the California mountains. However, when we thought about everything Toronto meant to our lives, to our work and play, our homes and families and friends, it seemed impossible to say no!"

I caught Foghat & Boston on both they're first tours.I'm lucky I was born at the right time to be able to see all these supergroups in they're prime.
