jeju bus guide 101 🚌 - jeju without a car, example bus trips, and other transportation options
I took the Jeju busses during my five-day trip in Jeju and here is how it went. I'll break down some details about the Jeju bus system, some example trips, and when it might be better to try other modes of transportation (taxi, private car, car rental).
0:00 Intro
0:30 Jeju Bus Terminal
1:07 Seongsan Harbor / Udo
2:07 Camellia Hill, Moomin Museum
4:19 Snoopy Museum
5:09 Final Thoughts
Other great alternatives are tours where you can go to multiple locations in one day.

The most obvious rule is that buses will come around regularly if you are near Jeju City or Seogwipo, but less often if you are in a remote part of the island.
As of September 2024...
The blue bus/green bus price is 1,150 won.
The red express bus price is 3,000 won.
Transferring does not cost money.
It is possible to go to more remote areas of Jeju Island by bus but it may be unreliable and it may take some patience. In cases where you have many remote locations you would like to go to, I recommend renting a car or hiring a private car and sharing which locations you would like to go to.
For my friend who visited in July 2023, car rental was around USD 111.73 for four days and 3 nights for the car. Gas was 30 USD for a full tank.
Private car rental for one day on Klook is upward of $180 and depends on the language spoken.

can i ask for a waybill in any 711 and takeit home? how much do i pay for it? thank you.
Nice work beo keep it up
So informative thanks!!!
Hello, for yamato luggage service, can i ask them to send my luggage from Haneda airport to my dorm? Since i found a little information about sending luggage from airport to hotel/dorm thank you
Hi, I'll do my best to answer. If your hotel/dorm knows beforehand that you are sending luggage to them, then I believe it should be fine. However, it may be a problem if you do not let your hotel/dorm know as they may not be expecting your luggage. It would help to have the Japanese address (English if needed) and contact information of your hotel/dorm handy for the Yamato luggage staff to write down on the slip. Hope this helps and good luck with luggage transport!
what major are u? i’m registering soon & had similar interests of classes as u! but confused on whether or not it will count for my major! this was super helpful! tysm!
I apologize for the late reply. You should check with your major department at your home university and ask them about transferring course credit. If you are a UCEAP student, I believe all courses count for unit credit but whether or not they count for major requirements depends on your home university major department.
thank you so much! these were all of the things that were stressing me out :,))
Hi! Thank you fo the helpful video! Apart from login info is there any more information that I need to fill out beforehand? If not, once I select the housing I want, is the application process long?
Aside from preparing your login information, have in mind what dorm you want and whether you want a double or a single. The application process should take 5-10 minutes, good luck!
If I go spring, will housing open during fall?
Most likely yes. Housing applications usually open 3-4 months before the semester begins but double check with your advisor or the Yonsei housing website.
hey! By chance do u remember how long it took for your courses to load into ur degree audit?
Hi! Thank you for your question. For me personally, after my Fall 2021 quarter abroad, it wasn’t until Week 10 of Winter Quarter that they popped up on my transcript. Once they did, I made sure to email my major department advisor to apply those classes to the major. The petition was approved around 2-3 weeks later. Let me know if you need anything else!
Hey! Thank you very much for creating these videos, they’re incredibly helpful and clear. I have two questions: first, you say we need to write the quarantine address down on certain documents that we show when we arrive. If we’re quarantining at a government facility though, what would we put down? Second, regarding the Korean number, did Yonsei end up having any number that we could use for this? Or if we’re planning on buying a Korean SIM card, are we able to do that before we get to these stations?
Hi! If you know the name of the government facility and the address associated with it, you should write that address down. I know some students who stayed with STAY4KOREA were in contact with representatives who helped provide them the address. Regarding the Korean number, you should reach out to the dorms about a number that they can be reached with. I believe SIM cards can be bought at the airport but a lot of people during my semester bought Korean SIM cards before they departed just to be safe. Hope this helps!
Is the second round of housing different from the waitlist?
The second round of housing is different from the waitlist. For Fall 2021 specifically, the dorms did a second round probably due to more open space and demand but it may not happen every year. Waitlist typically happens when all spots have been filled. I believe they will notify you over email if you get off the waitlist.
Hi, Thank you so much for making these awesome study abroad videos!! These videos are super helpful because I will be studying abroad at Yonsei University during Spring 2022 with UCEAP. I was wondering, since you took the shuttle instead of the taxi would there be someone who would bring you to your quarantine site after the health center? Also, if you don't mind if I ask. How was your quarantine experience and did you quarantine with Yonsei? Lastly, what type of VISA did you apply to? ( J-1 or D-2) Thank you. :)
Hi! The health center worker will bring you to your quarantine site after the health center. I did not quarantine at Yonsei but I know many people quarantined at STAY4KOREA and STAY14. General rule is the more expensive your quarantine site, the nicer it will be. The visa I applied for is D-2 but double check with UCEAP. Good luck!
@@studyabroadwithme2021 Thank you! :) Oh also, did you have the option to choose between the taxi or shuttle? After you arrived and completed all those things before leaving the airport , do they bring you to where you want to take the taxi or shuttle? And thats to bring you to the health center right?
@@patoodyj4958 Yes, correct! The workers at Incheon Airport will ask you whether you want to take taxi or bus. The bus will go straight to the health center but I believe some people quarantining at SK Global took taxi and were able to drop their luggage first before heading to the health center. You would need to check with the dorms though to see if that is possible.
@@studyabroadwithme2021 Thank you for the information! :)
