When you get up in the morning everyday and ask the Lord to keep you out of his way so he can fully do his work through you, You're genuine. It's Christ in us and through us that's the hope of glory period. We are just a someone he inhabits to be present through to interact with the world around you. In addition... Total surrender comes generally only one way. Great loss and being crushed to powder so No religiousness, self righteousness, pride, self sufficiency, legalism, concern for self, how things will look and worry about what people will say no longer reside in the heart. You come to the startling realization that "Being a Christian" is impossible and any fleshly attempt at such an endeavor is vain and meaningless and to the lost observer is a stench in their nostrils.

We have to have the mind of christ. be led by the holy spirit not our flesh. deny the flesh and be holy for christ is holy. we have to be aware of our thoughts and action and make the right choices. Judeo Christian religions like Roman Catholicism and Protestantism are goat institutions that offer sheep a goatish version of the Bible, and goats "in sheep clothing" and many actual sheep are lazy, shallow, worldly and fleshly, so they're quite satisfied. I'm not saying all their theologians or their 'congregants' and 'adherents' and 'lookie loos' aren't sheep, I'm just saying it's hard to produce genuine sheep in goatish institutions and goatish churches, that call themselves Bible blieving, but are half blind to the truth. As Jewry has hijacked the status of "chosen" from Old Testament Israel, so too the Romanist and Protestantist religions are "pretenders to the throne of Christ" and, in this way, they lead many astray...or keep them from becoming sheep, or better sheep.

I see people willing to stand up for what is right, even if it costs them, so we are Not at the "Sodom & Gamorrah" level of evil yet. Maybe the difference is who we allow around us? Don't know, so it's a self-reflecting query. When NOT ONE PERSON is willing to stand up, then you'll be right. Is it bad? Yes. But not that bad. Even when looking at evil we should be mindful of hubris.

It sounds like they weren't really sorry. Part of reconciliation is "correcting the harm done by the offense", not Just saying "I'm sorry." Look into the Jewish Tradition on forgiveness. IMHO, if they feel they didn't have to actually correct the consequence, they likely are "only sorry they got caught", that's not asking for forgiveness. People who do that "know" that THEY wouldn't have forgiven themselves/others for the action because "they weren't really sorry", so they second guess everything. But this too can be forgiven once they figure it out and ask for help correcting the behavior. Hate the sin, Love the sinner. If you look at EVERYTHING from a position of Love, acting in your perceived "best interest of another," then you should be good. "Love thy neighbor as thyself".

Very wise counsel. However, just because something such as alcohol and bars is not at present a temptation for you, it doesn't mean that you couldn't suddenly fall while there. It's best to ALWAYS stay away from the source of temptations, even PAST temptations that don't affect you now. Do your outreach and ministering on the LORD's territory, NOT on Satan's territory (bars & taverns for instance). I knew a person who said "I'm strong," who thought that the temptation wasn't there, who suddenly collapsed into the temptation because of hanging out in Satan's territory. Stay away, minister from a safe place at a safe distance.

I love your analogy! It works so well in terms of the comparison you’re making! One thing I would perhaps add on is that one can make gods out of anything. One can make a god out of food, or maybe sex, or an anime or tv show they watch. I wouldn’t limit it to just deities because as we saw with Moses coming down the mountain to a golden calf being worshipped, anything can be worshipped as a god, and in some of the previous cases I mentioned, that can certainly be a more subtle way that we Christians can defy the first commandment without really realizing it. We should put God above ALL because that is the rightful place He should be in our lives. Praise the Lord.

I go to a church that was frequently B&E'ed as its close proximity to the downtown city area, Hence drug addicts. The church installed a cross bar right across the doors. They literally use a square pipe as the bar and have a single metal door entrance. All other doors are bared. You can install one right into the studs in your walls. Secondly there are door 🚪 floor peg security systems you can buy or You can drill two holes 🕳️🕳️ in the flooor stud & use a iron rebarb mechanically Bent into a U shape. Like a U shape bike Lock. When your home just drop it in the holes & it'll be impossible budge that door open while its in. Lastly consider a metal screen door on the outside, i know it sounds like turning your home into a fortress but you'll spend more money constantly fixing damage. As long as its obvious that breaking in is too much of a hassle the burglars will find your house undesirable an move on. I live in an appointment, i asked the landlord to install a cross bar system right into the studs. Some people in my building get drunk & fight.
