    We can also use SAFE clause not only for CASTing, but also for other functions by simply: SAFE.function_name(). Eg: SAFE.SUBSTR().

    This video was super helpful! Loved how you explained combining multiple CTEs step-by-step-it made complex queries much easier to understand. 🔥 Could you dive deeper into optimizing performance when using multiple WITH clauses in a future video?

    Is possible to do subqueries in the ON clause of a JOIN? For example, when i want to compare if the value of a field is in a different dataset already, then i dont want to join it.

    I receive this message when I try to transfer: "Billing is disabled for this project. Please ask the project owner to enable it." How much money does it cost?

    • @datadice
      @datadice 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi @JuanSagua To initiate the transfer, you must add payment information (e.g., credit card) to your GCP (Google Cloud Platform) project. To do this, navigate to GCP, click on the "Hamburger button" located in the top left corner, and then scroll to "Billing". In the Billing section, you will be able to add your payment details. Regarding Costs: Although adding payment information is a prerequisite for this process, the transfer itself is free of charge. For further details, visit: console.cloud.google.com/marketplace/product/bigquery-data-connectors/google_ads. Please note, while the transfer is free, querying data in BigQuery does incur costs. However, there are monthly and one-time free usage tiers. You can monitor your cloud expenses under the "Billing" menu at any time. Greetings Alex

    The new UI is absolute trash. Can't believe someone has approved it. Random tabs keep popping out every time you click something. In 10 minutes you don't know which tab is which. You can no longer add field names by clicking table schema at the bottom of the screen - you need to use split tabs which create even more mess and are UNUSABLE on smaller screens. I am 20% slower with the new UI and every time I have to use it I want to eat my keyboard. Please give us an option to disable the stupid tabs and start showing table schema at the bottom when you click a view or a table. And the new UI is just slow. I would never believe I'd say something like this but Snowflake is terrible but Google is now far worse. Well done!

    • @datadice
      @datadice 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah we also sometimes recognize that the new UI is a bit slower then the old one. But I see more advantages than disadvantages with the tab approach. Furthermore Google improved the behavior of the tabs in the last weeks. E.g. the tabs are replacing each other when you switch for example from one table to another, but it does not replace the tab if you have a changed query inside. I would also be a fan of an option to show table schemas at the lower part of the screen. ~Alex

      @davidj9423 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@datadice hahah :-P just joking - it was really nice video and i agree with some of the pros. For me the new ui feels a bit sketchy because the auto-complete is very slow or does not work, and when it does - sometimes it gives false suggestions like e.g. auto completes columns that do not exist in the current table .. that is a bit strange. I also find that the split-tabs quickly fill up the screen and it becomes a bit too much - but if i understood correctly you have either bigger or more screens ... so i guess that helps. What i do miss from the old/current ui is the possibility to cycle back-and-forth through results ( you could click on the results pane and go back and forward in time - if you know what i mean .. that was nice ). Anyways - thanks for the great content, I love your updates on medium btw. Any chance i can subscribe to them without joining medium ? Keep up the great work !
