Damm removal and ecosystem restoration takes time, you cant call the results when machines are still in place. Let the processes that naturally occur within the ecosystems take place, aid the restoration with planting of natives and let it take a little time. Nature is an amazing healer and when we remove stuff that humans have put in place without an ecosystem perspective it will take some time. Have faith and help nature restore itself! Thanks for the video.
Looks pretty sad

I wish we had walleyes where I live. Such a cool species, and I hear they are tasty. Fun multi species day. Nicely done 👍🏻 🎣 SUBSCRIBED!!
Keep it up buddy,, looking for a thorough review of that reel now that you’ve had it a while, thanks!
@@davidcloyd1296 dbc-1 or the aldebaran bfs 22 . Both great reels
@ the Loongze 51. It’s the 51 right? The really tiny one
@ it’s amazing the drag clicker and digitally controlled spool and the range .8 grams to 10 grams. I typically don’t go over 5 grams. It’s up there with my Shimano aldebaran bfs 22 but if I had to pick one. It would be the dbc-1 b51. I will make a video with it on my tsuyrinoa aries rod. Ul baitcasting rod.
lets go

Ripping lip as always fish on, I took your advice using plastics and I caught a 1.35 lb smallie 😅 thanks for saying what you use in the beginning 🎣

Nice Wally!
Nice job!
good work
You’re a beast! What is your setup and why does your cast whine? Fish on
Thnx its digitally controlled reel (dc) its range is .8 grams to 10 grams. The rod is a telescoping rod ultra light (tailwalk) using 4# Sunline sniper fluorocarbon. Bait finesse set up
@@onesjourney6323wow nice setup I’m horrible at plastics/ finesse fishing and having a hard time in the fox by Elgin any tips? Spots? Thanks 🙏
@@juanoutthego I’ve had a lot of luck simple tube jigs or similar in white they glide thru water column look for current seems next to structure or slack water areas ( ambush points ) where fish might be waiting for an easy meal
❤
What are you on now 313.??
Thanks for asking at 325 trying to get to 365 for the year 😅
awesome vid, i used to work at Otto and would fish the old bridge during my lunch
They did the same thing on the desplains river a few years ago and it absolutely devastated the ecosystem of the river water is only inches deep years later
Fishing in des plaines on the river is the best it’s ever been in my lifetime definitely been shallow but that’s a rainfall thing
They removed some dams on the desplains River a few years ago and absolutely devastated the eco system of the River water is just inches deep years later
The river will go back to what it used to be
Thanks for sharing. Your video will help us navigate the area when it's all done especially.
Same thing happened to the rum river in Minnesota, it will never be the same 😢
It will be better
The river is low everywhere. We are in a draught!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What kind of BFS reel is that? It looks great and sounds like my Shimano DC.
It is a dc reel loongze dbc-1 b51
Thats not as bad as I expected ngl
I was down there today, and by next year all of those exposed banks will be covered in grasses and green. The river is also extremely low right now for any conditions, I also went up by the algonquin dam and that is about as low as you will ever see. Perfect conditions to remove the dam though.
It’s pretty cool to see how fast the channel cut through the silt and how clear the water is running down there
Wow now I see why everyone with riverfront property wants the dams kept in. Nice video! Pretty cool to see the change.
The natural flow of the fox being brought back is more important than property values in my opinion. Everyone’s opinion is different I’m not hating.
The sad thing is is that it extends their property, therefore making it More land value.. That's why they had more signatures to remove
their land still stops at the high water mark which hasn’t changed.. also all of that land south of the creek at Kings Rd. Is forest preserve.
I never got to see it in person.
whats your rod and reel combo i like it ty
@@bill57mat86 loongze dbc-1 b51 is reel purchased thru Loongze USA site and rod tailwalk troutia feerique ul telescopic rod purchased thru Japan . Reel is digitally controlled that’s why it makes sound to control over spooling ( back lashes) spooled with 4# fc Sunline sniper
It's going back to nature! Before we came along and ruined it! sad? I don't think so...
It will take some time but Mother Nature will take it back
Nice video man
We're also in a moderate plus drought right now. South Elgin is severely low as well.
Man that was stupid of them to remove the dam. I don’t buy the bullshit how they did it in order for the fish population to have less restriction. Just sounds like a dumb ass excuse.
Dam removed at Lyons few years back. River is different now. Folks still fish the area.
Thank you for posting this. So is the dam still being removed or has it been completely removed already?
It’s half removed just posted video walking it. It’s changed a lot gonna take time for Mother Nature to heal
Really nice share! Great job
It's getting kind of late in the year but thanks to your videos I've decided to take up fishing was it being such an expensive hobby maybe I'll just stock up until next year but definitely going to get out there and learning a lot thanks for posting
Rock river is good place to start. Mona 🤘
Nice video I’m learning the fox I usually fish Batavia and Montgomery dams south Elgin looks good any tips for me thanks
@@tedthilly1934 what kind of fish are you after. I primarily fish for anything that bites. The gear your using is key rod and reel and lure weights are key to balanced outfit. Lures I prefer plastics in white 2” to 3” and I look at current seams and rip rap ( Rocky areas).
