Nia Vardalos focuses on detail and she is a perfectionist. I wish and pray for an American big production about Smyrna, we had the movie with Mimi Denisi, it was quite good. I feel that if we had a Titanic type of romance there, maybe it would attract more. The big thing about Greeks of Constantinople and Asia Minor was that they were so rich and lived like the Levantines (Italian, British, French). I am still searching how these people made all this money, I read stories about tones of gold in the hands of Greeks, must be trade, education..

I liked the movie it was unexpected. Alexis Georgoulis was an amazing entry. The Syrian woman took me by surprise to be honest, considering the big immigrant crisis in Europe, but it was cool.

I really enjoyed this movie, and I loved the unexpected twist during the last 30 minutes. However, it definitely tackles a hard subject matter that could be triggering if not prepared, which is why they put the warning at the beginning of the movie.

I can envision the premiere after-party: Rupert Sanders, Dir: "I want all of you to be able to look me straight in the eye one more time and say, ARE WE HAVING FUN OR WHAT??????" Black crow flies into room, lands on buffet table and squawks....... Sanders: "How the hell did that thing get in here?" Brandon Lee, emerging from the shadows in full ghostly makeup: "GENTLEMEN!" Bill Skarsgard, crying out in terror: "Ah- AHHHHH!!!!" Brandon jumps up on table, sits down indian-style and points finger at Skarsgard: "I just want....HIM!"

This movie would have dominated the box office if it had been released earlier, before Barbenheimer.

Having Annie Mumolo for such a small role is a passing of the torch from Bridesmaids to this.
