If anyones actually curious theres a few different channels that have done testing on cooler efficiency, Bare aluminum and spray painted black. Same coolers, and compared between different quality of coolers also in bare or spray painted (not colored from manufacturer)

Why would you paint your radiator? For it to work less efficient? Huge flop.

I think you would be better off getting some stiff mesh material and making a bug net rather than painting the actual cooler. I'd be interested if and by how much it affected cooling the charge air. Another option would be to anodize the aluminum radiator a different color.

Was cleaning a car after it got done painting and everything. Looked amazing, color matched... then I went to dry it.. When I ran the towel over the hood boy oh boy could you feel the overspray. Felt like sand all over it, good luck with that in the future...

do people not know they make paints specifically for this? u apply a THIN coat and its fine. and for the record if u look it up BLACK radiators actually help radiate heat, meaning they emit more infrared radiation than lighter colors and therefore can transfer heat to the surrounding air more efficiently. lets say u painted a radiator white and one black, the black would be better at cooling, but only by a tiny fraction of a % so its not really worth getting into light vs dark paint but either way. they make products for this and its fine, unless he went in and did a few solid coats on it or something its not going to harm a darn thing. he didnt paint it with Bed liner or anything FFS people
