Wow ... you are our family. from Myanmar. ငါတို့မိသားစုဝင္ေပါ့
In Tuensang village, we have four khels. If I am right, Khel is a word derived from Hindi/Urdu. In Chang, it is sub village called “sangmang “. My dad’s family is from Lomou Sangmang & my mom’s from Chongphou Sangmang. Not only our forefathers were head hunters, we also clean the skull of our loved ones buried after one year of the death anniversary. After skull is clean, it is taken to the skull house of the “khel/ sangmang he belonged “. Coming of the Christianity had destroyed many of our history. We need to preserve for the future generations. People without history, traditions & cultures are lost tribes.
Appreciated your supplement and agree that people without history are lost. It was much exited to me to be there in Sangmangs around Tuensang. Thank you very much for your contribution.
The coming of Christianity ✝️ brought to the Nagas by American Baptist Mission was a gift & blessings. The only problem the early missionaries taught the new converts, they discouraged them to observe and practice their culture. & traditions. In some cases, they were taught, it was “sin” un-Christian even to wear our traditional warrior gears & observe the festivals, except Christian high holidays like Good Friday, Easter Sunday & Christmas. Due to that teachings, we lost our history, culture & tradition for many decades. We also destroyed historical sites and artifacts in the name of Christianity. Nothing in the scripture “Bible” says, you have to abundant your culture, tradition & history to follow Christ. It’s repentance in your heart that you surrender to be a follower of Christ. You can still be a believer in Christ & also as a Chang Naga.
Like a night in the forest, Like the mountains in springtime. ❤ Dada. Thanks for the clip with whistle.
