BRZ at VIR, Bottom Out suspension
I'm bottoming out something on my suspension or chassis in this clip. The same thing happens at T1 at Summit Point while going over the curbing, but only if I have a passenger. Maybe it's the endlink?

A few install tips for the GJP seat sim, which is necessary to have functioning passenger side airbags and no airbag warning on the dash. This is helpful for folks turning their gen2 twin into a track car with fixed back seats. You don’t have to get all your stock passenger seat sensors out this way. www.geraldjustprojects.com/product/gjp-seat-sim/ Gerald was great through all of this. I had so...

How to use extended rivnuts to install add on body parts. It’s much easier than trying to deal with loose nuts on the backside of bodywork. If the back is hard to reach, you can just use needle nose pliers or the like, or just skip the extra washer on the back side.

Dodging deer is easier than dodging NASA drivers
Thanks again for your help with this assembly. Did you happen to notice that the corner cushion is recessed compared to the rest of the sofa? If you had this problem, did you find a solution? I see a bunch of reddit posts from people with this problem and unfortunately this seems to be an issue with mine too.
Do you mean like when you sit in it, it feels like your feet are higher than your butt? Ours was a little like that, and I just put in a cushion support underneath
Thank you times a million :')
Just looked at your setup on ft86club and didn't see anything about an oil cooler, baffle, or accumulator. Are you running anything to compensate for oil pressure drops?
I added a Jackson Racing oil cooler before anything else. Guess I forgot it. I had an Accusump on for a while but removed it after talking to some pro teams. Also made it easier to mount the remote canisters for my MCS 3W shocks
@wangspeed Oh, awesome! I was going to get the Jackson Racing oil cooler before my next track day. What did the teams say about the Accusump? I thought it would be a good thing to add, but Zach from CSG also said it seemed like people with accumulators have more issues than people without. He didn't really explain why though. Are there any kinds of precautions you take when tracking like an overfill? What oil? I'm based in Raleigh and am very new to tracking. I've only gone to one weekend at VIR and loved it, but I have bit of anxiety over all the fear mongering oil issues online. Have you run into any issues?
@ oil cooler, overfill with motorsports grade 5W-30 (like Motul), brake pads, brake fluid, and send it
@@wangspeed Hell ye. See you at VIR
Thank you so much!!! Just got mine and this helped out sooo much!!!!!!!!!❤
Put a small zip tie around the shaft and push it down to the canister. Go out a session and if the zip moves all the way up, then you are bottoming out. If this is the case, fix it my increasing height, adding compression or higher spring rates.
Good driving out there.
Great, something other than my slow track times to worry about on top of the laundry list of car related fears. 😮 (Glad it was just a scare)

Yeah you can pass me like I’m literally standing still 😂
haha my man you rock.
Really nice T1-T10 sequences! For all the speed and grip you have through T3, I think you could easily carry more speed through the apex of T11 and toward T12 (treat T11 entry through T12 entry as one big brake zone and modulate the pedal more or less as you go through that sequence). Mike Skeen has a very useful tutorial vid on this on YT.
@@northcamarolina7453 that’s the same advice that Mike gave me. I’ve been sending videos to him after events to get coaching tips. Thanks for the T1-10 compliment! Think if I really nail T5/5a well, I’ll have more speed by the top of the esses. Looking forward to getting back out at the end of Oct to implement the advice!
Passing in the esses...wow!😮
Slow passing in the esses :)
I murdered my run into hogpen on that last lap :(
This worked perfectly, thank you so much!
Would it be easier if you donthe engine side first?
screw this POS. i think mine is defective.
Nice driving, are you monitoring oil pressure? How is the accusump working?
@@AndrewJamesL4 I took the Accusump off to fit my new MCS 3W coilovers. Also talked to some more actual race teams about it. I run 1 quart over with high quality, weather appropriate oil and send it. Stopped worrying about oil pressure dips for now
@@wangspeed thanks for the reply! Debating gr86 or Miata for track
@@AndrewJamesL4 they’re both excellent platforms for the track. I’d still pick an 86 if I did it all over again
@@wangspeed thanks for the perspective, did you have a Miata?
@@AndrewJamesL4 No, never owned one, but have lots of friends with them. I think of the gen2 twin as being closer to a modern S2000 than a Miata. A bit larger, but more power, and very forgiving to drive. The more power part is helpful if you run at any big tracks like VIR, which feels like 3 long straights
Great install video! Let us know if you need any assistance with the Accusump.
Thanks for taking the time to make this video, Warren!
I’ve tried this technique for the last 20 minutes and I’m still not able to get it.
I hope you got this sorted out. Were you trying with or without the pilot hole?
horrendous tree. dont plant it in your yard. only plant if you have decent acreage
Savior! This helped after my five future attempts!
Thank you so much for this video - my bf and struggled with this step!
So correct me if I am wrong ….. you have to pop the hood of your car and get out of your car to turn on and off the system ? And if when the system is on and you are sitting at idle say….. on Grid waiting to enter the track, or at a red light, when your engine enters low idle, like it does, this thing is going to be overfilling your oil pan and flooding your engine with oil because you have no way of shutting down the system at low idle without GETTING OUT OF THE CAR, POPPING THE HOOD, AND TURNING A VALVE MANUALLY ? Was this given to you for free ? You know they make an electric Valve, and even a cable actuated manual vavle…… both that can be setup in the car so you can use the system correctly. This kit is a joke, the only time you are supposed to use a valve like that is if that accusump is INSIDE THE CAR WITHIN ARMS REACH SO YOU CAN TURN IT OFF AND ON…….. you tool. Get educated before making bad purchases and even worse videos.

Thank you for helping the community. I’m wondering how your oil pressure data logging is setup now that the typical port utilized by most oil pressure sensors is occupied by the Accusump hose. I’m mainly talking about the GJP I/O box data logging solution that utilizes that exact port.
"Promo sm"
Does it increase overall system oil capacity as well?
Yes, by 1.5-1.7 quarts
Saved me sooooo much time!!
Gotta love the point by and they don't lift. I had an older BRZ that I didn't track. New platform seems way up on power so that is good. How are you liking the counterspace compounds ?
Sorry for this clueless comment but I own a 22 brz i just installed an oil baffle in the car thinking it would solve the oil pressure drop issue. Does it? And should I run the accusump along side it for any more benefit?
Ansix auto released a video saying that “we believe there are no baffles on the market that reduce the oil pressure drops”, so currently this may be the only solution. They also logged data after installing an acusump and it showed significant reduction in oil pressure drops when making high G right turns.
Thanks for making this video!
What brakes are you using? Are they OEM just painted red?
Brembo BM4 (front) from CounterSpace garage and Brembo GT in the back.
@@wangspeed thanks!
I'll definitely have to get that for my 22 brz.

You sir are a life saver!!! Almost broke the sofa out of frustration!!!
This is cool, did you notice this was something the Goni slowly got used to, so at first was retracting then got used to the fish touching it? Beautiful Goni by the way similar size to my colonies, like me you’ve cracked the Goni code
That goni is very hardy! It’s never been upset by the clowns diving into it, or the acros growing into it. Amazeballs is also very hardy and so is a bright pink one I picked up from LRO
Lucky ): my clowns are upsetting my Goni
Excellent video, thank. It helped a LOT

And of course it's the first step... I've been going at this for 20 min before I came here
You Sir are a life saver 🤝🏻 I struggled for an hour trying to get these two peices together with no avail. Until I found your video! Perfect technique 👌 I ended up needing to add a spacer like the one you have; it wasn't included with the sofa.
