So, on our Scandinavian tour, there is a city called Flåm in the country called Norway. Let's see the beauty of this City. High mountains all around. Beautiful waterfalls are falling. So we take a ferry to the valley between these beautiful mountains. This is our traveling companion.
Look beautiful. Both sides are very high mountains. Between them, a U-shaped valley flows into the sea. Our journey, which is about 17 kilometers long, ends at the village of Gudvangen.
This valley has been formed through a natural process around 11,700 years ago during the last ice age when the burning icebergs eroded rocks like gravel and created a very steep U-shaped valley. These floods have melted and the sea level has risen a lot. All these valleys are filled with sea water.
All these valleys are surrounded by high mountain ranges. It has become one of the most amazing natural wonders in the world. The depth of the nearby sea here is almost 500 meters. About 500 meters wide and in some narrow places about 250 meters wide.
There are small settlements on both sides of these valleys. They will also be carried on this ferry.
This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
We went on this trip in the summer season. The surroundings were very beautiful at that time. For that reason, from December to February (winter season) these green areas have turned into icebergs.
