Though small in stature he was a Giant on the Irish music scene and I well remember him belting out the big numbers and creating the best Craic as people of all ages flocked to the dance venues to watch Joe in action and maybe (with a bit of luck) find a good looking girl to take home

Good upload from a past day ...was there , played - in Moynihan's .. and competed....spent a good deal of time with the Liverpool ceili band., Kit Hodge, Billy Greenhall, and others...Met Paddy Carty and Paddy Taylor..John Brady among others.

Joe was performing on the evening I met my wife in about 1972 at the Garrick club in Leigh Lancashire, and we are still together. He played there often with a very appreciative audience. I have often and regularly watched videos of him on youtube in years past. It's nice to see a new video with him in Mulingar with his locals. We have bought several of his LP's in the past - now converted to MP3's for in the car.

He was amazing really I visited his grave there recently and thanked him for all the singing over the Years

I'm totally flashed and happy to see and to hear that! The comment is in Galic (Gaeltacht) and I understand most of it. No, I'm German but have Friends in Ireland since the 70s. Have been in Ireland several times. And play Irish folk music from the 70s on. With Irish bands. This is a wonderfull movie about this old times! Tx for that! And it remembers me to practice again more songs in irish language!
