I assume you are talking about the jerk bait fish, that was two different rods both light blanks built rods with a quick action tip I lost one of them because the reel had too much drag and the trebles came out the other fish I was him peck it on scope he just didn’t get it good enough, so if you have a suggestion on a jerk bait rod assuming that’s what you were talking about I’m willing to try something else

# 4 and # 6 treble hook baits. Shorter handle rod that's medium or medium light with moderate action. Not fast action. You want the parabolic bend. Not a glass rod. I have some older Gloomis rods but the Jacob wheeler jerk bait rod has great action and keeps fish pegged. Never use a fast action long handle rod on a jerk bait or dt6, or pop R type bait. That's what zell Rowland told me 30 years ago. Try it

@@CadenAcreeFishingif it’s the MB the issue is always the outside shank hooks and the gauge. Get the duo nano and you’ll break their lip before it comes out to include the big ones. The best rod that I’ve used is the St Croix Jerkbait specific with it but with the big ones it’s so light take a knee after hook up and keep that rod tip down. Just my 2 cent.

@@CadenAcreeFishing When I was young back in the 50s bass fishing was fun even with the crude gear. It seems that most of the bass fishermen are very arrogant these days for me it has ruined the sport.

I think the arrogance is a big issue but the competition is what drives me to go back to the lake and try harder to try and have the results I want I try to be as humble as I can about all aspects of bass fishing

You don’t have to, to catch fish I just feel more comfortable

It’s gotten tough since the water muddy so go shallow and fish hard jigs and red cranks!
