This time my Mum Vicki joins us on holiday from Tin Can Bay. Unfortunately the weather once again has set us back a couple of days but we are hoping for a few sunny ones 🏝️☀️ This episode we try our luck at throwing in some crab pots up Leekes Creek. Will we catch any? 🦀

We broke out steering cable 🆘🏝️🌧️ Ep. 3
มุมมอง 1776 หลายเดือนก่อน
Well it’s been a bit of a week! After wiring in a work light on the back of the boat Matt discovered the steering cable, bushes and conduit are broken and in need of repair. Not great news as we had planned to leave for the Keppel Islands for 11 nights. It’s a crap find and the delay is crap but we’re glad we found it at the marina before snapping a cable out at sea 🙈 In this weeks episode we t...
🙈 3.5m Tiger Shark 🦈 caught in front of our boat - North West Island Ep. 2

Great trip away to North West Island, Queensland. The water was crystal clean and full of marine life, we saw so many rays and turtles. Being new to capturing footage we completely missed a number of events overnight including full loss of power, mooring issues, reversing over our (old) dingy 🙈🤪 and swells of 2-3m heading back to Gladstone which took 10 hours motoring and some seriously horribl...

G’day ✌🏻 and welcome! This is us: Matt, Jourdana and Penelope. We sold everything we owned back in Karratha, Western Australia (google it 🤪) and embarked on an adventure to buy a catamaran somewhere on the East Coast of Australia with our two year old daughter then sail it back around, over the top back to Perth, Western Australia. Come follow our journey and be apart of our beginning 🫶🏻🙌🏻⛵️☀️ ...

Hi Guys. It's so nice to see a no nonsense sailing channel again. You chose a great boat to begin your ocean-bound adventures on. We're in for the journey. Such a pity that you have left Airlie already. It's our backyard and it would have been great to catch up for a beer. We just spent the last 2 seasons in the Kimberley and are heading off in the new boat to do it again next year. You will love it. Cheers M&W

@@LifeinaNutshell hey guys, we’re fans. Love your vids and footage of the Kimberly. All the nooks and crannies 🫶🏻 well we have missed our chance by a few months getting around so we’re staying put on the east coast this season and heading round next. Soooo much to see in QLD alone. We’re actually on our way down now and will be in Airlie again in a few weeks/month. Would love to catch you guys for a beer 🍻

@@DysonsAdrift Wendy and I said to each other last night while we were watching your latest episode. "Please don't rush the experience". We are so happy that you decided to slow it down. There is so much to see between here and there. I grew up in Fremantle and sailed that coast for over 20 years. Yes it's pretty but not a patch on what you are about to experience along the east and north coasts. We are heading down to our new boat in 2 weeks time to start sailing her north. We might get to Airlie by about April next year we think. But we drive back home every now and then to check on the farm so we may well catch up for that beer if you guys are about. Otherwise see you out on "The Blue" one day.

Thanks so much for taking the time to comment 🙌🏻🤩 the Aussie slang 😂😂😂 it use to be super thick but I left QLD about 15 years ago but it still lingers…. Glad you enjoy it. We’re onto magnetic island this next episode, it was simply amazing and a top 3 fav spot so far! It’s truely a unique place. Thanks so much for your feedback 🫶🏻🙌🏻

Good job guys, love seeing the lifestyle not just the exciting bits lol. 60 knot gust in Airley Beach this time of year is most unusual. I'm sure it would have caught most boats off guard. Btw love the Qld slang HEY! hahaha When you get up to Magnetic island, there's a resort and main port on the west side, on the east side there used to be one solitary house in a beautiful bay full of sea life, we swam with the large manta rays there, absolutely beautiful. We also met a 13yr old boy who had lived there all his life, never seen a big city or a high rise building, never seen or been in a tram or train, never been in a classroom (school was by correspondence). He was such a bright happy kid and what was 2nd nature to him in the water and on land would take years of intense study to learn. You have an amazing opportunity here, you're going to discover people and places the world has no idea exists and you have the tools to show the world. Your down to earth attitude and language is pure Aussie, so refreshing to see and listen to. Good luck with everything and keep improving 🍻🍻🍻🍻

In the 70"s and 80's South Molle was a great fun resort, always things happening, lots of people a brilliantly helpful and friendly manager and the most yachtie friendly island resort in the Whitsundays. It's a damn shame it's gone. There's some real history there!

@@DysonsAdrift There's some great places there in the Whitsundays. I'm not sure how much time you plan to stay around the Whitsundays but if you're there for a while here's a few spots we had a great time in. Narra Inlet at low tide, take a hammer, screwdriver and plenty of buckets. You'll fill them all with oysters, 100's of them! Cid harbour, great place for bbq's and meeting other yachties from around the world. Start a BBQ there and for sure others will join you and before you know it, there'll be raging beach party! There's also a decent dry river bed there that's a nice hike up to the top. Make sure you take a couple of torches/flashlights cos it takes longer than you think and you could be coming back in the dark. Hook observatory, if it's still there. Be careful of the large bombies as you approach, they're not charted so talk to some locals. Hazelwood island, it's a bit of a sail but if you have a firearm onboard (not sure if that's allowed anymore) you can go wild bore hunting there. You're in a truly beautiful part of the world, a place your entire family will never forget. Enjoy it while you can 😃😃😃
