Ansari was one of the companions of the Prophet and one of the commanders of the ummayad army during the second siege of the Byzantine capital. In 1459,Mehmet built a mosque at the site of the grave,which became a point of pilgrimage. The area, called Eyyup,is still a celebrated enclave.A second mosque,completed in 1470,on the site of the Church of Holy Apostles,has the Prophets prediction for Constantinople inscribed in golden letters.

Fatih Sultan Mehmets fathers dream became his obsession. Mehmet was ridiculed, not least by his own grand vizier, who called his obsession a folly youth. Mehmet ignored such sagacity. He prepared for invasion by constructing the fortress of Rumeli Hisari on the Bosphorus to ensure stability and security of his supply lines. In may 1453 Mehmet gave a call for Jihad.Addressing his troops as Ghazis/Gaziler(Warriors of Allah),he inspired them with the Prophets prediction that Constantinople would be ruled by the faithful. On 29 May 1453 his army made the blood flow like a rain after a storm and corpses float to the sea like melons on a canal ,according to Nicolo Barbaro. The last Byzantine emperor Constantine II,fought to the end of his life and his empire. some 30,000 Christians were either enslaved or sold. Sultan Mehmet rode on a white horse towards the Cathedral of Hagia Sofia/Haji Sofya,mother of all churches,built in the sixth century by Justinian. He dismounted in front of cathedral, picked up a handful of dust, poured it over his turban and proclaimed the shahadah " There is no God but Allah,Muhammed(SAV) is His Prophet ". The cathedral in that instant became a mosque.Mehmet prayed for the success of the house of Osman. He was only 20 years old. One of his first decision was to order the death of grand vizier who had taunted him for dreaming of Constantinople/Istanbul.

In 6 AH,the Prophet sent letters to neighboring rulers. One was sent to Emperor Heraclius of Rome. The Prophet wrote. " In the name of God, the All-Merciful, the All-Compassionate. From Muhammed, the servant and Messenger of God, to Roman's great King Heraclius. May peace be upon those who obey the right path. I call you to Islam in the way of a true Muslim. Become a Muslim and you will find salvation.Become a Muslim and God will give you twice as much as you actually deserve. If you turn away, you will be held responsible for your subjects. And you : "O people of the Book! Come to a word common between you and us, that we shall worship but none but Allah, that we shall assign no partner to him, and that none of us shall take others as lord besides Allah. If they turn away , then say " Bear witness that we are submitters to Allah(as Muslims) " (3:64). The Empire diplomatically stated that Heraclius rejected the invitation. However historical sources insist that emperor inwardly welcomed the invitation and remarked " These places we are in now will be his in the future.

Muhammed(SAV)sent letters to rulers of Persia, Abysinnia, Bahrain, Oman, and Egypt. The king of kings in Persia treated the letter with contempt. He tore it up. Muhammed(SAV)prophesied that the Persian empire would be torn up soon. The king of kings ordered his governor in Yemen Badhan, to arrest this man who had dared to treat himself as an equal and lay waste the country if he did not obey. Muhammed replied " Tell him that my religion and sovereignty will reach limits which the kingdom of Khusraw never attained " The governor of Yemen, instead of arresting Muhammed(SAV),became a Muslim and emerged Yemen into the growing Muslim state.
