ONE-OF-A-KIND 90s Sega CD Game Collection! (UNCUT)
My intro to Metroid. I know some people say it was too "handholdy" but I feel it was an excellent hand held game and a very good start to the Metroid series since it's definitely more linear than the others while still giving room to mess around and have fun
I'll just stick to my switch and play emulated games from the switch eshoo or just play a neo geo mini classic.
It's an honor to have this comment before youtube kids, strikes the comment section
I'm so used to 'I am at ALDI' that I forgot how to sing the part where it's like I am everyone, everywhere. I keep thinking: I AM AT ALDI!!!
already know my ins and outs with problematic retro consoles, but this was still a fun watch through. broken ones tend to be good for practice. i've fixed my fair share of olde consoles in the past, but i've still got several that needs repairing (like my playstation with a barely functional disc drive) or further diagnosing (i have an og snes model that refuses to play games).
Both. GBA SP with gen 3 pokemon games was my first handheld console experience though. Overall spent the most time playing mario kart ds
They should have gone one step further, remove the game cart for a reload
He’s a rule breaker
Glad to see you are still doing videos. It always brightens up my Sundays.
Glad you like them!
US
Its a heatsink so you can warm them up in the can after playing Sonic.
Yes, we need more spaghettios holders
Every console should have one!
Every classic console I bought in Japan is in mint condition ❤
I think the US snes pops out more compared to the much more grayscale super famicom, but the famicom controller looks better than the US controller
I still have all my consoles/games from child hood
So my bi polar epileptic sister 19 years old and myself 30 years old high functioning autistic man both us being on tight budget dealing with certain things! We have most classic consoles NES SNES and N64 games wise, Our old high school mexican friend that I went to school with from 2006-2012 still see him every now and then! He gave us his SNES Model 2 junior with free five games Super Mario World, Mario All Stars, Donkey Kong 1, Killer Instinct, and Super Punch out which he really didn't have to at all, had to clean work on the SNES junior some then it all turned out super great was so very happy, just now for a while we got a hold of Zelda A Link To The Past, Super Metroid, Warios Woods, SimCity and Zombies Ate My Neighbors that were so glad to have, We're hoping to find a few other good SNES games soon wish us luck!
I prefer emulation for PS1 and PS2 games since many PS2 consoles have issues with disc drives and finding a perfectly working PS2 is hard to find nowadays and only work off the composite outputs for video and audio.
I just like to think that shadow just is in public and like actually has to buy groceries (Do you think shadow has to pay taxes)
Definitely got to stop by the store.
Come on by! ❤️
Great video! Subscribed 😊
Woo! Thanks so much 😁
@@estarland no problem! 🙂
I bought a Sega CDX from a flea market for $10 years ago. Love that little system I'll pull it out every once in a while and play on it.
That's an insane deal! They're insanely expensive, even now. Do you ever use it as a CD player? 😅
@estarland actually I did for a little just for giggles. Wished you could play Genesis on batteries but it does in 5 minutes...lol
@@tiwanx lol that's about what I'd expected 😆
CD-X was called Multi-Mega in the UK.
I actually like Mega Drive more than Genesis, but I feel like the CD-X is maybe more appropriate for this one. 💿🤔
@@estarland I already owned a Mega Drive + Mega CD at the time so couldn't justify the purchase. Especially since at the time of the Multi Mega's launch that generation of consoles was coming to an end. Playstation launched 15 months later.
Ill buy a retro console if i wanna lol
In case of the Genesis/Mega Drive, a lot of these get broken because of people plugging in the wrong power adapter, the genesis/mega drive is from a time period where the center pin of the barrel jack is negative, while most (if not all) modern barrel jack chargers is center positive.
Also I believe the original NES AC adapter fits the Genesis but outputs AC power instead of DC. I'm sure some people made that mistake back in the day. It's also probably why Nintendo changed size of the power jack on the North American version of the SNES.
I perfer a HDMI modded retro consoles like a Sega Dreamcast, PS2 and a Sega Saturn
They make an hdmi mod for saturn?
I paid for some games n 4 discs to be repaired
Budget
I would love a follow up video on testing and repairing them.
We’ll see what we can do! 😁
Thanks for the video, very informative, keep makin em
4:43 It's a VA6, meaning it has good sound quality.
Yep, I have this model.
I don't need input on what systems to buy. I already own these each system has great games on them. Only a moron makes an dumb video like this
Retro Consoles only way to play CLASSIC GAMES! And they can be easily fixed. Most of the time. Also have Sega Gen 1&2. Saturn, N64, PS2, Wii, and more.
That warm fuzzy feeling when seeing the Vader Atari 2600 come out of the box.
My OG xbox works fine besides for a fussy disk tray
Nope! Nobody called the original PlayStation, "the psx," when it was contemporary. With exception to the failed Nintendo prototype being known as the "play station experimental" and some 3rd party peripherals, who didn't want to use the trademarked name on their unofficial products, the reference only became a thing well after the millennium and seems to be a Mandela effect now. It's especially dumb to call the original PlayStation or PS1, a psx, since there's actually a Japan release only console called that for real. Nobody has ever shown me a 1995-1999 public reference to the PlayStation as "psx" on any magazine, advert or other media--I'm yet to be proven otherwise, despite being told I'm wrong (by people a lot younger than me, likely born near or after the PlayStation's launch).
It was called the PSX in the early days when the N64 was still the Ultra 64. I just opened up my copy of Game Player March of 1994 and on page 30 it calls the Playstation the PSX.
There is no " Mandela Effect" in regards to people using the PSX acronym for the original model Playstation. It was widely used across forums and message boards as fan terminology in the late 90's. There was a gaming magazine called P.S.X which would later become PSM. Issue 105 of Ultra gameplayers from December 1997 has the terms PSX and PSX2 in a letter from a reader on page 142. Review editor Roger Burchill uses the term PSX2 in his response to the letter and doesn't correct the reader for using wrong terminology. In the same issue on page 147 is a full page ad from defunct mail order game store Chips & Bits using acronyms N64/PSX/Sat for respective products. That is 6 years prior to Sony releasing a product officially called PSX in 2003.
Also the best place to look for references in old gaming mags would be ads for mail order game stores. Like Video Game Network, Chips & Bits, Crave. They all used PSX in advertisement for the PlayStation console and accessories.
Thanks for the references. You're seeing these from physical or scan copies right? I've had people mention particular issues before, but when I look, it's not there and I've been through literally hundreds. To be clear, I'm referring to the released console being called that when it was contemporary; I know it was a prototype code. I never heard it said in person, on messaging boards, nor in game mags during that time and I lived for it. March '94 was before the launch and understandable, but if I see it stated around the time the upcoming "Ultra 64," then I'd stand corrected-albeit maintaining it being daft to use since another Sony console DVR combi is called that.
There was a magazine literally called PSX. VIRTUALLY everyone called it Playstation or psx until the arrival of the psOne which the mainstream started calling psx and games psOne games in anticipation of the impending PS2.
The on-screen talent here is a handsome son of a gun; should definitely invite him back to do more videos. 😎👍
We’ll pass that along to Austin! 😳
As much as I would love to send you two or 3 huge boxes just to see you unbox it all and hear what you have to say about the old collection. I just cant. Not quite ready to part with it all yet. Maybe the atari stuff. It doesnt have the sentimantal value that everything else has.
Don’t ever feel any pressure to trade anything in or send it our way! We totally get being sentimental or not ready to let go of a game or collection of them. But we’re always here if you change your mind too! 🫶
Every recently got myself a gold toys r us n64 That's my favourite Retro system I had that same color when I was a kid.
Oh sick! What color is it? I had the purple transparent one growing up! 😁
@@estarland Gold and sick I always wanted ether a purple or orange one
@@Jackbat69 nice, I bet the gold Zelda carts look incredible in that
i would not buy a console. so glad for emulators
We love playing on the original hardware but to each their own!
😒
@adammintern3927 I've got a modded Wii with EMULATORS! But original consoles are best to have.
i picked up an original ps1 with composite outputs. the disc wont spin is the only problem. easy fix?
You should check to see if the ribbon cables are fully seated first, but you could also try the upside down trick mentioned in the video too but it can have the unintended side effect of scratching the top of your disc so be careful!
Pretty cool to see Austin on another channel and agree with the other comment about a video where y’all test and fix a few of them!
He’s the best! And thanks for the feedback! 😁
Austin 😊
Will there be a follow up video where the consoles are actually tested and fixed?
That’s a great idea!! 🙏
Wow Austin! Hell yeah man
I broke my thumbs looking at the first controller
I wish they had released those as a limited version cool 😁😎 btw
that controller has been trough some adventures💀
I wish they’d still release it 🪃
Man with that shape and the vibration it would be used for more than gaming.
@@absorb1505 ayoooo😅
Owner of the collection here. Long story short, these were stored with a family member while I was at uni; I didn't know they were still smoking. 😅 These were all games I grew up with and I never really intended on selling these, but I ended up moving to Japan so I had to offload them. You'll notice that I took better care of my games as I got older. Cheers!
Wow thanks so much for reaching out! It’s our favorite thing when the owner finds the videos! 🙏 We see that kind of story a lot where people need to move or life just happens and they have to let things go, but that’s a lot of mysteries solved! ❤️ Hope you’re enjoying life in Japan!!
Thank you for confirming the stickers still have a scent! I'm saving up to buy the guide book and smelling these scratch n sniff stickers is literally one of my life goals
If it were an Xbox controller “Please reconnect controlle-“ *fucking dies*
