Learning to hear God's voice begins with the consistent reading of His word. Similar to how we recognize the voice of a loved one through regular communication, we can discern God's voice when we continually listen to Him through the Bible. Ideally, we should seek God's guidance for every aspect of our lives. Personally, I often receive a message accompanied by a scripture - usually one that I have either read or heard before. Although the scripture may sometimes not come immediately, it eventually does, and that is how I discern God's position on a matter. Therefore, the word of God serves as a guide or boundary within which He communicates with His people. God does not contradict Himself, and He brings clarity and peace, not confusion. Moreover, those who seek God's will must learn to do so with patience and soberness. We must be attentive and receptive to His voice, avoiding haste or impulsiveness in our approach.
