    I would never use the word stupid! If I am unknowing about a subject, I would not consider it being stupid. The quest for knowledge is a quest. The process will be filled with trials, mistakes and successes. What I think the challenge is that we have to keep our understanding of the speed in which not knowing turns into understanding and in the process we need to have a level of humility in the process. We are all wired differently. I may learn something quicker than another and vise versa. When we compare ourselves to others, maybe more gifted in speedy learning, we set up ourselves to downgrade our own experiences in learning. I think that makes sense...or maybe I am just stupid 😉

    • @agbocsardi
      @agbocsardi หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for sharing this idea, I especially love the part about the speed of understanding, it resonates a lot with my own experience! I am also very cautious about self-talk and narratives, so I'd never advise anyone to think of themselves as stupid, but it does come up, and I think it provides a very funny way to expand this idea :D

    I have the Helios 44-2 and used to love it, but now I don't know what to think. I always knew it was a cheap "copy" of the Zeiss Biotar, but I just assumed someone in Russia had a close look at it and decided to design a new cheaper version to make photography more accessible to people. I had no idea that they literally stole the machines and blueprints. Urgh! How awful!

    i recently got my first camera, a fuji. i exclusively take jpegs only (raw is not turned on), for the same fundamental reasons why shooting analog film is more enjoyable. i treat the process as if i were shooting film. i do not check the photos, i think BEFORE taking the photo, and i put thought into each shot. i have a set of 7 film simulations that i got from fujixweekly that i choose between for each given shot. the most i do in post is change the highlight, shadow, or exposure values, most of the time i dont need to tho, because i try to get it right before taking the photo. i highly suggest that u turn off raw as well, and try to approach it like film, or at least just dont take 50 photos of pretty much the same thing.

    • @agbocsardi
      @agbocsardi 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, I only shoot raw when the white balance situation is messed up and I can’t dial it in pre-shoot, then it’s great to move it around in post. All other business, I’m shooting jpegs😃 I even like to stick to one film sim for occasions, as if taking “one roll” with me

    Highly relatable story. We have a lot in common for sure! One of my motivation to complete my PhD was to be able to afford my first proper camera. It happened to be a Canon 90D. Since that initial purchase in July 2021, my journey has taken me through the Canon 5D Mark III and IV, the Fujifilm X-T4 and X100V, and most lately, the X-T5, the X100VI, and the Canon R6. It's been almost 3 years, and I'm still in love with photography despite all the AI stuff that I'm doing on a daily basis. I just wish that I could do more portraits.
