A new approach to metabolomic phenotyping
Metabolomic phenotyping has the power to transform our understanding of health and disease. Just a few microliters of sample material can tell us how a person’s genetics, behavior and environment work together to influence their health. Having the knowledge of what takes place at the cellular level, allows us to improve the overall individual wellbeing.
With decades of experience across multiple disciplines, biocrates makes standardized metabolomics accessible and quantifiable. Our phenotyping kits and services support scientists around the world to make new discoveries in research, nutrition and personalized health.

Awesome content🥰
For a person with bipolar 2 disorder, I found this enlightening! Thank you and all curious scientists.
Thank you for your comment - This is very motivating to carry on supporting the science.
Hurry with these studies 😭😭 I’m suffering a post drug syndrome from finasteride and I’m pretty sure it had a lot to do with the gut microbiome because my gi zoom test is missing so many bacteria AND we have people recover though fmt plus iodine. I’m like 99.9 percent sure it has to do with epigenetic gut microbiome link
Thank you for your informative presentation
Çok güzel olmuş
Did you try diet? Low protein, low fat, plant diets?

What foods or supplements do I need to eat/take to resolve this? I took clindamycin and it destroyed the bacteria that make secondary bile acids. Then I got c diff. Took Dificid and it killed c diff but my symptoms remain. It’s been 7 months and no change. Probiotics don’t help and I can’t eat dairy or red meat because it makes the diarrhea worse. I’m getting no nutrients and my GI doc just shrugs and says to do a colonoscopy. Which will reveal nothing we don’t already know. My calprotectin is 260 and blood clots are coming out when I use the bathroom. If you can just say what’s worked for others without giving medical advice that would be appreciated.
What are some of the most effective ways to lower kynurenine other than a vitamin B6/P5P?
Kynurenine and its derivatives help regulate the immune response and can be helpful to fight infections. Chronic inflammation and certain cancers are cases where one may want to lower the conversion of tryptophan to kynurenine. Diets that lower inflammation have been used to do this. You can read more about that in the following article. biocrates.com/mom-kynurenine/ (Kynurenine and nutrition)
Very informative. Thank you....loved it!
Thank you for your comment.

Thank you for sharing, Sara. It is really important to gain understanding of underlying biochemistry and metabolism to treat conditions.

Thank you for sharing very important information where we will find answers. I wanted to mention that I have done a lot of research on Pyridoxal 5 Phosphate (P5P doe short)and I want to share that in this comment. P5P is essential for converting Niacin to Tryptophan and Tryptophan back to Niacin. Additionally, It is essential in the following processes. Converting Tryptophan to 5HTP, 5HTP to Serotonin, Niacin to Tryptophan, Carnitine and Homocysteine Metabolism, and Glutathione synthesis. It is critical in maintaining intracellular Magnesium levels, and is needed by Histamine, Norepinephrine, and Acetylcholine for their metabolism. It has many more responsibilities than this, and it is essential in the Kynurenine pathways as well. From some of the newer research, it reveals that when their is a buildup of Serotonin and/or Kynurenine, that P5P plays a significant role, as it is needed for their many pathways. Unfortunately, P5P is depleted in foods by cooking, processing/refining of foods, heat and improper storage. I hope this information is helpful. Thank you for sharing your research.
very interesting
Again, we see that details are critical in approximating an understanding of nature. Thank you for this upload.
