VIDEO GAME MUSIC COMPOSER DEEP DIVE - Hotshot Racing Main Theme
Wow, that thing is cool!
Hi Ross! Thank you for making this video. I’ve been watching some of your videos because I want to get into the seemingly impossible to penetrate world of making music for games. I haven’t been bombarding developers with e-mails they don’t have time to read or anything like that, I’m just taking my time to learn how it’s done and practice by making tracks for already existing games. Your videos are really helpful and I just wanted to say how much I appreciate them. Also, cool thing, I’m just up the road on the border between Chesterfield and Sheffield - it’s nice to see someone quite local being successful in this business. Have a great day and please keep making videos. ✌️
Could you upload 1 hour version of Homefront the revolution first red zone soundtrack please? I will need it for my show.
Such a collection of awesomeness here. I need to make sure I pay more attention to your releases!
Great video
🔥
I love this. You make great work! Love your HD2 stuff too
Hey! Are you the man who made music to Homefront the revolution?
@@piotrmontgomerytv7786 hey! Yep I was one of three people who worked on its music. Hope you enjoyed it!
@@RossTregenza Yes! The game is amazing! Call of Duty Modern Warfare should learn from it. Homefront The Revolution is great!
Dude that Helldivers anthem is incredible. 10/10
thank you!
Few words of yours where just so incredibly true 😋
amazing thank you for that, You're a good one ;) - dhem shit
Really Interesting I Adore Your Work On Homefront The Revolution
thank you so much!
@@RossTregenza Your Very Welcome, Honestly The Composers Are Unsung Heroes, Such A Huge Part & Importance of What Sets The Atmosphere For A Game. If You Just Mute The Music On A Few of Your Fave Games You Very Quickly Notice That Its More Than Just Music It Sets The Whole Feeling of The Game And They Just Wouldnt Be The Same Without That Unique Soundtrack That The Composer Has Created For Every Area & Menu, Encounter. Really Dont Think Game Composer's Get Enough Credit
You complete me.
My dude :) We're the biggest bromance in modern horror :)
Love this behind the scenes! ❤
amazing!!
Nice one Ross! Is that the music in the background? Sounds cool. I'm still keen to try the Terra, only played it briefly at Superbooth last year.
yeah it is! and the Terra's lovely. I love it more and more over time. A part of me wishes it was a bit less obtuse, but that's not really in the spirit of it.
🤘💀🤘 Howdy Ross.
Where was this in my feed before I just spent all my money? 🤣
I love this thing. Best video of it so far.
Thanks man! First, for the support and awesome video, but also for the performance. Really well done! Can’t wait to see how you’ll use it in your work. Please keep me posted. Cheers, Roey PS. The switch changed the tape speed :)
I need this!!! only the DIY is available!
Cool! What about inputs and outputs? Does it have any cv connectivity?
that is a downside - no CV, no ins, just stereo out. I'd love to have seen some CV on it. Maybe they'll do a eurorack version.
oh wow I didn't realize you did acual music for Cyberpunk 2077 my favorite game lol YOU ARE A GOD edit (sorry, that's a little cringe haha) You are creative and obviously talented! I hope many more game developers hire you!!
haha really don't think I'm a god, but thank you for the kind words :)
03:10 this part here sounds the music track from Alien Isolation (horror game) when exploring Sevastopol that's friggn awesome haha
I love that game!
definitely cool!
Thanks for the content. The most depressing part for me is "social media" why this society is vampiresed so much by fame and followers.. I don't like social media 😭 it's prob. Not a world for me then 😔
Fantastic Work, It's A Great Piece Brother ^5
Wow so glad that we live in a time where awesome people like you give free tutorial like these 🥺
thank you for your kind words!
Brilliant work Ross, this is a badass reel mate! LOVE the Helldivers stuff
I feel like Resident Metal would be the name of a quickcut GMV featuring Leon Kennedy smashing skulls to a heavy metal version of the main theme.
Super helpful video, thanks, mate. Wondering if you setup parameters to switch between shoe type or if you have separate events being called for this? It's possible to do both, of course, just curious about your preference. Thanks!
I tend to make blend containers that feature several elements, then within that I'll have switches for shoe type + material + sweetener + foley. That combo gives me a nice big range of possible sounds
@@RossTregenza Thanks a lot for replying! That's really helpful to know, thank you.
Gracias por la musica del Helldivers 2 me gusto el trabajo que hiciste :)
gracias!
tcm rush week omgosh this soundtracks its so fucking nice <3 thank youuuu
such a valuable video allbeit very quickly done of course, inspiring man! I really loved hollkow knight's UI design and been trying to create that feel myself
it always feels weird to look up who's behind some of my favourite art and see the lack of attention those channels get.
seriously he reminds me of Bear McCreary I started watching/listening to all that stuff after falling in love with the battlestar galatica music
Gives a feeling your looking at the a battlefield, but nobodys won or lost, theres just dead from both sides littered everywhere
thank you - that's exactly what I was going for!
Dude, your Helldivers 2 anthem is sublime. I would be walking on water if I composed such a banger.
Is the Soundtrack available to purchase anywhere? Preferably physical vinyl or compact disc. Amazing atmospheric tune here, very very good job!
I'm afraid not, I wish it was!
Really enjoyed the music to TCM Rush week. I like the synth-wavey / mysterious and spooky nature of it. Adds greatly to the game mode.
Thanks for this tutorial! It was useful to see the individual layers that contribute to the final result. Do you have any advice on what type of surface to use for the leather boot foley to get that neutral sound that can be layered with the different terrain types?
What a beautiful little gem
thank you , this was perfect and useful tutorial
where can i download/buy this version
Thanks as always, very helpful video series for somebody trying to start working on Game audio!
dooDeet ?

Bro thank you so much , awesome vid
I am looking for a way, and the results I am doing are really confusing. Thank you very much for the clear and intuitive explanation. It's great
That was super cool, thanks! Love the concept of Memories, and giving a little piece of yourself to the game.
Just subscribed! I'm a singer/composer, but thats not my day job (found you on LinkedIn) Hoping to get into doing soundtracks. I feel like I have a lot of good ideas. How did you get into the industry? My weak point is the final mix and mastering. My demos sound ok, but my record label has always provided the finished mix and master. Hoping to learn more mixing tips, and ways to break into the film/tv/game industry. Cheers.
