    Next time when I go to church, I will talk to my cousin David, my uncle Phet, and my preacher Bill, about bringing back Sunday school. It would be adult Sunday school divided into three groups. Group A: David will teach all the unmarried people under the age of 40 years old in the Sunday school room. Group B: Phet will teach all the unmarried people 40 years old and older in the church kitchen. Group C: Bill will teach all the married people in the church room, regardless of their age. I have been writing about it on my phone and in my binder. The Sunday school room is actually the church porch. I call it the Sunday school room because that's where David always taught Sunday school. I would really like him to teach in that very same room again. Only three of the little chairs are left. I would like to keep the little chairs because I am a small person and I don't even weigh that much.

    I am praying to Jesus every day and I wish I could go to Church but I can’t find the good one as I live in a very small city. Tell me if it is absolutely necessary to go to church and what I can do if there is no church I need.

      Hello Lev, it is wonderful that you are praying everyday. Jesus can surely reach you through prayer, but you would be blessed and helped so much more if you could find a church. If it is safe to mention your location, could you tell me your city and I will try to help you find a good church. I will also pray that you find a good one. That would really help! Also, make sure that you are reading the Bible each day. I recommend reading one chapter in the morning before you start your day. God bless!

      Jon Marshall Thank you, for such quick reply, I am located in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic. I visited a Russian charismatic church and I felt it was not good one. Few years ago it got broken to small churches as the pastor was denounced. You know Russian speaking churches have many communist traditions and charismatic churches sometimes seem to me that they don’t follow any common sense. They shout, fall and behave strange inside. I think Jesus was not doing this. May be I am mistaken.

      @@sabinas8915 Hello again, thank you for letting me know your location. I will reach out to some friends who help churches in Russia to see if we can connect you with a good one. You are right that some charismatic churches can be strange. But not all of them. Some of them love Jesus, follow scripture, and really try to love their neighbors well. Give me a couple of days and I will hopefully be able to connect you to someone.

    Sometimes, a storm is just a storm. I'm certain that Jesus lived through many storms. We shouldn't read demonic activity into something when the scripture doesn't indicate that was the case. In the broader context, we see that this passage is showing us that Jesus had power over nature, over demons, and over sickness and death. We see his power over demons in Mark 5:1-20, over sickness in Mark 5:21-43, but Mark 4:35-41 is just showing us that he has power over nature.

    Some great thoughts! Really makes it seem simple to put a sermon together, although I know a lot of work is required. Like Lance, it's a little harder for me to add the things that might help it connect with people. If something doesn't automatically come to mind, I'm not one to search for one. That being said, I am open to learn and try something different. Question: Do you usually use illustrations from your life (like the appliance store) or do you search for illustrations on the internet?

  • @dfuller035
    @dfuller035 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    These are great points to incorporate as we wrestle to simplify a main point and it's purpose in Scripture, it should make everything we say more pointed and direct. I think it's a good way to consider teaching points. Some points aren't main points. Question: I've never heard the storm in Mark 4 referenced as demonic, but rather just as God setting the stage for the storm (as well as all other storms). If you answer these, I'd love to hear how you came to find that.

  • @dfuller035
    @dfuller035 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    When I heard you read that verse in Ezra, I thought, man, I'd like to be like Ezra! God's hand was on Ezra because he set his heart to study the law, to practice it, and to teach it. The progression of Ezra is the path to being effective. To set the heart, then to study, and then practice and apply, and then teach. When you teach the passion comes out because you know it, and are living it. Question: How come guys that are wrapped up in sin, not pursuing holiness, still seem to be effective?

  • @kairanima
    @kairanima 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    I really appreciate hearing someone academically successful sharing the need for teachers to be pursuing holiness and deep connection to the Lord. I've really clashed against other church staff internally through out the last couple of years. I've found that not many people would blatantly disagree with you, but they still greatly desire "pizzaz" and a showy ability. Question: Have you always been a teacher of the Word who has sought deep honest Godly character? Or when did a shift happen?
