Do you think the IB diploma program is worth it as an international student?
Thank you for your question! You need to analyze the different learning options available at your school, but historically, the IB program has been well received internationally.
Awesome 👍
Thanks for answering these important questions! It´s hard to find this content anywhere else... (Ps: I like your hair 💇♀💇♀💇♀)
Great analysis 🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾I love tennis (Nadal and Federer are my heroes, and I always learn something from them)! Keep up the great work !
Thank you so much! We are glad you enjoyed the video…it was an inspiring speech!
What if I had really low grades in grade 11(due to difficult personal circumstances)? Is it still worth applying as an international student?
Thank you so much for watching our channel and for your question! There is a section on the common application called the “additional information” section where you can explain situations just like these. Make sure to take advantage of that section when you fill out your application. Some schools will take these circumstances into account.
This is good advice about what question to ask because the quality of advising is important, and at many schools, including some prestigious ones, it's probably not all that it should be.
Thank you! We agree! 👍🏼 advising systems on campus are so important for the student’s experience.
What if you had dire circumstances like not having a reliable place to stay (bouncing place to place) and not having resources to do school work that led to a lower gpa. Could a higher sat / act score help?
Hello! Thanks so much for your comment. Higher SAT/ACT scores will certainly help because they will show your academic capability and provide a more holistic understanding of your GPA, but you should also write about your circumstances in the other pieces of the application itself.
how will they evaluate international applicants who dont have gpa
Thank you for your comment! We hope this video was helpful. International applicants are considered in comparison with their school profile and regional profile. Even if there is no GPA, there will still be some form of tangible grade markers for success.
I had the same quetion! Thank you!
How can you get an idea of GPA academic cut off? I know in the CDS you can look at 25% and understand that is the bottom acceptable score to submit. Is there a place we can find similar info on GPA? I know I can see what % were top 10% of their class, but that’s arbitrary
Thank you for your question! This does vary by region and by school, so the best place to begin looking for this information is by speaking to your school college counselor and trying to gather an understanding of your high school’s admissions history to the colleges you are applying to. We hope this was helpful!
Great video! We just chose classes for next year and this was really helpful!
We are so glad! Good luck next year!

Thank you ☺️
Shocking that Yale came to see the light so late.
Thank you so much for your comment, Michael. A few schools are starting to update their policies so we expect that more will join in...it's pretty normal that they make decisions as a group. We will keep you updated as we hear more!
I was accepted into Yale class of 2028 through a likely letter and everything you said here was 100% true!! Separating the academics from social is a great idea for the first two essays and it’s how I crafted my own essays :)
Wow!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! What a tremendous accomplishment-we are so proud of you!! Thank you so much for sharing this excellent news with us 🙏🏻 it’s comments like these that keep us going ⭐️

Thank you! 😄😄
Great video! I heard these were so important in the process...I didn't realize HOW important!
It’s a very important part of the process, and we do recommend taking it seriously! Good luck!
Hello, thanks for your video. If my kid targets colleges that state 2 yrs of world language requirement would suffice (like UT Austin, Georgia Tech, Carnegie Mellon, Urbana Champaign, MIT etc.,) then is it necessary for 4 yrs of doing language? Despite what they state, would they consider 4yrs of language to be plus? My kid is a Freshman in 3rd year of Spanish and is debating whether to go for 4th yr or not. Thanks in advance.
The general answer is they would consider more years a plus, but it does depend school to school. He should absolutely take at least one more year if he is still a freshman, even if he is in his third year. It's best to get as close as possible to "maxing out" the language levels at your school. And if you do replace a language, make sure it is with a class that fits your child's narrative.
Is there a benefit to taking Honors foreign language if both Honors and CP carry the same weight? If my child opts for Honors in freshman year and then feels the need to go down to CP in subsequent years will that be viewed negatively?
Thank you for your question! There is definitely a benefit to starting on the Honors track early. It will not be negative if he needs to drop down, but it may warrant a quick explanation in the additional information section. We always recommend starting higher and moving down if you need to, rather than holding yourself back. You never know what you are capable of until you try! 😊
I'm curious about the reasons of this change .... 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Definitely interesting. They spoke a little about it in the post that they released yesterday, but of course, there are likely more reasons behind it.
Thank you for posting this! It's going to be nervewracking to see what the other schools do.
It will be! But remember what we said in the video: the best way to stay prepared is to stay ahead.
Deferral is so hard thank you for providing tips on this!
It really is...such a challenging part of the process.
Super relevant thank you! Need to share
Thank you so much! We appreciate it! :)
So helpful thank you for posting on this :)
Thank you for watching :) We are so glad it was helpful!
Great video, very clear
Thank you so much for watching! We hope it was helpful.
Thank you for making this video and hitting the point home! Will be sharing it with our students at our next info session.
Thank you so much! We appreciate it, and we are so glad to hear that it was helpful!
🫶🏾 thank you for this info !
This is so helpful !
Thank you for being here! We are so glad we could help!
what if my student already get a 5 on AP exam, is two years foreign language good enough?
Great question! It depends on how many years they studied that language already and what their narrative is in the college process. What year is your student? What are they hoping to study in college and how many languages do they speak?
@@sunnytsai4044 thank you! It sounds like your child's situation is a bit unique. We would recommend speaking with your child's counselor at school or speaking with a college counseling specialist who can evaluate your child's narrative as a whole. We hope this helps!
Ooh this is cool!
Glad you liked it!
Awesome advice! This makes me less scared of a deferral. Thank you!
We are so glad! Definitely a normal part of the process. Let us know if you have any questions!
Let's go to UMiami!!!! ☀️☀️☀️

Thank you for this video and for your channel! My family is finding it very helpful as we try to better understand this process. When is the best time to begin this "demonstrated interest relationship?"
We are so glad to hear that the channel has been helpful! Make sure to subscribe to stay up to date on all of our admissions advice. The best time to begin the demonstrated interest process varies slightly for each student depending on their confidence and their knowledge of their own individual narrative, but our general recommendation is to begin sophomore spring. We hope this helps!
Hey, I have written an essay on the 4th prompt of Common App "Reflect on something that someone has done for you that has made you happy or thankful in a surprising way. How has this gratitude affected or motivated you?"" I've still written it centered around me, but could you read it and let me know? I have commented on it below in the replies to this comment. I have already submitted it to many universities so there isn't much I can do but there are still some universities left so please let me know any changes I need to make, thanks a lot.
Thank you so much for watching our videos! We hope they've been helpful. Make sure to subscribe to our channel to stay fully updated on our admissions information! We offer expedited essay reviews with our college admissions experts. Please email us at LotusPremierEducation@gmail.com to request an essay review with one of our specialists. Good luck!
Ps. We would strongly recommend not sharing your essay publicly before you’ve been admitted and the college process is over for your application year. Hope this helps! Good luck.

If I choose undecided interest in those three sections, how can I respond to the question about an idea or topic related to what I chose?
Hello! Thanks so much for watching our videos and for your question! This is a challenge a lot of students struggle with. We recommend NOT putting "undecided" whenever you can avoid it to make these exact situations easier. Here is a link to our video about why "undecided" can be a tough choice in the college admissions process. We hope it helps! Let us know if you have other questions. th-cam.com/video/5_60HQ-FIN8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ZX_p4EDVD33VP6or
This video was so helpful! Do you have any suggestions on how to do the Brown video portion?
Thank you so much for your interest and this excellent question! We will make a video on the Brown video portion and link it here shortly 😃
Hello! We just uploaded a video on the video portion of the Brown application. We hope it's helpful! th-cam.com/video/2c9SQIKy5YU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=nK1SToSWiLW7yL9H
@@LotusPremierEducationThank you so much!!!🙂
Thank you so much for the video! This was very helpful for my children. I have heard that a deferral is a soft rejection. Is this true?
Thank you so much! This is a great question. Deferrals are definitely NOT soft rejections. There are several students that are admitted each year after deferral. We cover next steps after a deferral in the video but please let us know if you have other questions! It is very important for students to continue actively engaging with schools after deferral.
how do i write about the exciting topic related to my major since I don't know anything about it, and therefore I am applying for it. If i knew my field, would i apply for it?
Thank you! This is a great question. You should absolutely research your field before choosing which one to apply to. You don’t need to know everything about it, but you can absolutely find questions within the field that you are eager to learn about and write about those questions. We hope this helps! Let us know if you have any more questions about the Yale supplements or the admissions process ⭐️
Is 30 hours enough to finish the Supplemental essay?
Great question! It is difficult to measure in time since everyone thinks and writes at different speeds. We usually suggest that students leave 1-2 weeks to brainstorm, draft, and edit the UChicago essays specifically.
How do I write about the most influential person?
Great question! You need to think about yourself first. What aspect of your character do you want to show? And then align that with people who have been influential for you.
Very useful, Keep it up♥♥
Thank you so much! We are glad the video helped. Let us know if you have any questions you would like us to speak about!
