    Great fly!! I love using beadchain on flies any time I can. Where in Texas do you fish? I hit up the San Marcos River and Big Cow Creek the most. Also, maybe put a dab of that super glue on your bobbin holder. I’ve never seen one do that before!

    GREAT VIDEO !!!! Thank you for showing us how you tie in squirrel tail , I've never seen that before and my some of my favorite flies have squirrel tail that always seemed to thin out as I used the fly , Now I know why , thanks to you. Going to try this variant on Atlantic Salmon in the next week. I really like this variant and the reverse deer hair tie in. Tight lines from Nova Scotia , Canada.

      It is an easy pattern, and quick to tie enough to fill your box. Thanks! You could use a hair stacker. I don't though, because I want the hairs to be different lengths. I will get them semi-close, but I don't worry too much about it. I think more varied lengths give it a more natural look.

  • @cooperwoods499

    Looks like a killer fly! In the video you made touching wraps pretty important, what works for me to get the smoother body is spinning my bobbin counter clockwise which flattens the thread. Just makes everything smoother with less effort. Awesome tie!

    • @texasfreshwaterflyfishing5113
      @texasfreshwaterflyfishing5113 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the comment. Yes, spinning the thread to flatten it out can definitely help! In time when I am fishing the fly slower, or in areas with more vegetation, I will do this! When I am just pumping them out to fish fast in more open water, I don't worry about it as much. I should have mentioned that in the video. Thanks!
