I thought I was the only one who knew this book series even existed!!

The adult black wolf is Wolf 4 and his three black sons were Wolves 2, 3 and 6 while Wolf 8 is the grey. They, along with 4's mate, Wolf 5, were relocated from Alberta, Canada in 1995 to become some of the first wolves reintroduced into Yellowstone. They would be the Crystal Creek pack. “Three of these young sons will become mighty alpha males, control vast territories, and have many sons and daughters.” Wolf 2 would disperse and pair bond with dispersal female Wolf 7, together forming the first naturally made pack of Yellowstone, the Leopolds. They were bonded for 7 years, had many pups, and were considered the most stable pack during those first years. Wolf 6 would take over the Crystal Creek pack after his father was killed by the rival Druid Peak pack, he and his aunt Wolf 5 moving to Pelican Valley. Their pack still exists to this day, renamed as the Mollies pack in honor of Mollie Beattie and due to all of the original members dead or disappeared. Finally we have Wolf 8, who bonded with the pups of Wolf 9 after she and her litter were relocated back into the pack after 9 and Wolf 10 moved out of the park but 10 was illegally shot. When 9 and her litter were let out of their pen, Wolf 8, not even 2 years old, became the alpha male of the Rose Creek pack. “But one son will die young and in great disgrace.” Wolf 3 dispersed from the Crystal Creek pack and left the park, being interested in captive female wolves. Being away in an unfamiliar setting, 3 killed livestock and was recaptured and set back into the park (at the time, wolves were given a second chance before being terminated). After staying with his birth family for a few months, 3 returned to the captive wolves, killed livestock again and was forced to be shot. “One of these sons is destined to be considered greater than the greatest who ever lived.” “This book will tell the story of two wolves: the greatest who ever lived and the one that was greater than him.” If you cannot tell, Wolf 8 is considered "greater than the greatest who ever lived" for he was the adopted father of Wolf 21, the most famous male wolf of all time (the greatest who ever lived). (He stars in this book, The Reign of Wolf 21 and Redemption of Wolf 302). McIntyre calls Wolf 8 "the one who was greater than the greatest who ever lived" due to how 21 respected and cared for his adopted father, never challenging him, and learning much from 8. In McIntye's words, 21 "...would of rejected that title. In his mind, there was a wolf greater than him. It was the only man he would defer to. It was the wolf who adopted and raised him. For 21, the greatest of all wolves was 8."

For more context, this prologue was Rick McIntyre's take on how a storyteller would start off a story about the Yellowstone's wolves and how it would start off, staring Wolf 8. A comment below will give out more information on the dialogue, Wolf 8 and his brothers. All of this information comes from the book, "The Rise of Wolf 8". Also each scene of the first half of the video references a specific pack or individuals. Ok it's FINALLY here after um, 5 months of no activity and when I said I wanted it in November. Teehee I'm so silly 🤭 Anyways, the channels not dead, promise you that, we're gonna finish the last part of "Elk and Wolves: The Lifelong Race" and "Lightnings' Reign - Part 2" before moving onto other projects. Well I also wanna do a Yellowstone Unleashed video on the side BUT yes the channel shall go on. So sorry for inactivity, life gets in the way and I am super lazy. I'll try for weekend recordings again but we're DONE with Cenozoic Survival and will only use WolfQuest for the next two videos. Yellowstone Unleashed for future projects and here's hoping Wild Savannah will finally be done. Will maybe look into the Ecos: La Breas game as well. Here's hoping for a good rest of the year! Well done! Love the realism and the mix of CS and WQ together. My advice would be to use more background music so the video doesn't get too quiet- if you know what I mean. Other than that, great work!
