Why is the South down so much more ?
It's funny because when the stats change like this it could be, in some cases due to the fact that more cheaper options have sold then the more expensive ones or the timing of the deals. It doesn't always indicate a direct price plummet. It's best to look at the bigger picture. =D
Thank you 😀
Oh I forgot, the normal school was the Catholic board office, but when it became to expensive to maintain, they moved out, so the city wanted to tear it down, but the ass hole people, of old south protested so much the city rebuild to house the offices of a non profit organization, the YMCA , what a huge waste of our tax payers dollars. The people of old south are a bunch of queers, and snobby people who do not belong in London Ont.
Been here 15 years. Great part of London.
It really is! It's a beautiful day for a hike!
Biggest bunch of conservative, gay, lgbq area, you will not enjoy the totally old feeling, they totally do not let any new development happen, and way to many pets doing there business on everyone’s lawn. Way over priced area.
You are very welcome!
Thank you! 😊

Ahh, back when Wavell was an open road and not clogged with signs and curbs (aka faux bike paths)...

I LOVE BEING HOMELESS BECAUSE OF SOME ASSHOLES FUKKIN GREED LANDLORDS and realtors scum of the earth

We are so lucky/glad we sold when we did 18 or so months ago. and we purchased here in CR before the market climbed. Thanks for all your help when we sold Melanie. Hopefully you can come and visit us someday soon. Have a good holiday. Chris and Cindy
Grew up around there. Recently started learning about the history of the area and had no idea the age of some of the buildings I walked by for over a decade. Pretty fascinating area. Rambles in the Rust Belt has an interactive walking video here on TH-cam taking you through the history of Wortley. Highly recommend.
Yes, I believe I've seen that video. It's a great area!
Thank you for the update!
Kindly send me your email address
Very good. Congratulations.

Thanks madam for your videos...I will start studying at Fanshawe - London in this May, I hope one day I could settle down in this beautiful city @@
Best of luck on your up coming courses and thanks for checking out my page. Appreciated!
I grew up there and owned a house.
It's truly one of the best neighbourhoods in London and likely across Canada!
Your a great person!! 👍
@ Melanie Pearce, People can fix up their homes the way they please woman. Who are you to tell how people should fix up their homes.
Whatever 🤷🏻♀️
My last name is spelt: Pearce
Is this place near fanshawe college
No and it looks to be 2 bus rides to get to the college. Sorry!
@@homesforlifelondon which neighbourhood or residential area is near fanshawe
I'd say Carling, Huron Heights, Old East and Argyle.
@@homesforlifelondon how much is the house there for students
@@nickhavi Average house prices last month for Carling and Huron Heights sits between $540-640k and rising.
❤❤❤

Is 700000 thousand investment in south London Ontario a good buy for a1700 sqft townhouse ?
I see there has been some sales close to that number in the south. Whether it's a good buy is really up to you and up to your mortgage broker to confirm. This sounds like a personal question. Did you buy one of these townhouses? Are you happy about it or not so much?
to bad Dundas East is full of homeless and addicts now
Yes
Eagerly waiting on September update : )
Hi Melanie, I just found your yt channel. I'm going to London next year as international student, and I would like to know what neighborhood could you recommend me in order to find housing that are not that expensive? Thank you!
Will you be going to Western or Fanshawe?
@@homesforlifelondon Fanshawe =)
Thanks for the update!
Hey. Can we have a podcast on real estate in Canada? I have done podcasts on various topics. Would be happy to have a podcast with you. Feel free to check my channel.
The "Normal School" was originally a teachers' college, then the public education admin offices, then the Catholic education admin offices before becoming the YMCA admin offices for southern Ontario. The property is owned by the City of London today. It's also a designated heritage property under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act within a Heritage Conservation District (Part V of the Act).
Yes, I was corrected in an earlier comment. I do these a bit on the fly so sometimes I can get things wrong. =D #human Thanks for watching, I appreciate it!
I need to ask you something ,do you know who they called Larry weeks
Hello ma’am
Thanks for the monthly update.. I'm moving to my new (well 45 yr old) London home in White Oaks on Aug 20th! : ) .. thank you for clarifying earlier that it falls under South London .. I know the answer to your question.. thanks to your website.. which lovely btw : ) White Oaks is named after a book .. love the little trivia tit bits on the site.. and the street names are based on Characters of the book .. keep your monthly updates coming.. Thank you and Cheers.. enjoy your weekend!
Awesome! Congratulations! Email me (melsellslondon@royallepage.ca)your address and I’ll send you the gift certificate. 🎉🙌🏼👏
Woohoo! So cool.. thank you : )
@@vineetkarkera Don't forget to forward your address so that I can send out the gift certificate or you could pick it up from my office. Just let me know what you prefer. Thanks Melanie
Two of favourite peeps.
Maybe I should ride up to Ottawa to interview you! #favourite #sleepover ;D
At 6:52 into the video you have a caption come up saying that the spot you are in "its a very walking friendly neighborhood" seriously i get what you are doing and trying to make it look better but maybe show everything and don't move the camera away from all the homeless and drug addicts that line that part of dundas street. Seriously i live off of Hamilton Road just the other side of the bridge at Adelaide so i walk my service dog over that bridge all the time and I've personally been randomly assaulted by some drugged out addict who out of nowhere decided that i was someone who he needed to knocked out cold thankfully I wasn't alone and had someone to help me until I come to from being knocked out from behind i literally didn't even see it coming and did nothing to provoke this person or anyone. Anyways you need to show what that area is really like and not hide from your viewers what the area is really like. I agree with you that the area can be a nice place maybe someday but as of the time I'm posting this reply to you (August 6th 2021) its absolutely not. I still walk my service dog in the area I'm not going to let some drugged out addict stop me from doing anything but you turning your camera away to not show them when you are passing them by you are not helping anything and you are just being dishonest with all your viewers. Ok well i will leave it at that i did enjoy your video it was nice to see a video about London Ontario on TH-cam but it needs to be completely honest and not hide the truth from your viewers like you have this will be what maybe might even help the people I'm referring to if others see what its really like because not showing them is doing nothing but tell a lie.😥👍✌
Thanks for sharing.. Does White Oaks fall under South or East?
Whiteoaks is in the south. Here's a link to my neighbourhoods page: homesforlife.ca/london-ontario-neighbourhoods
Tony's Pizza used to be called Tony's Pizza Cave when I was a kid and lived in that area in 1973. Hudson's was a great department store back then too.
Hi Melanie! Do you have any information about best neighborhoods for renting a house (four members family) in London, ON?
Well, I don’t do rents very often but certainly there are lots of good neighbourhoods in London. When you find a place you like consider researching that neighbourhood on the London police website for crime information. You can also message me and ask what I think of the area. I ‘d be happy to give you my opinion.
Would this be considered the “highest end” neighbourhood to live in in London? If not what area would be?
Wortley village and old south is very sought after area but when it comes to high end areas I’d say Sunningdale comes to mind as well as the newer parts of Lambeth or Westmount come to mind.
Hi I have a question how much do houses go up by every year in london?? Thanks 😊
I first lived in the east end from 1974 - 1976. I lived on what was Cascade Ave., but is now known as Marconi Blvd. There were fields and a large wooden area. All of that is gone now and it's a subdivision. I returned to the east end in 1991 and have been here ever since. It's my home.
I actually grew up just outside of Ilderton. I lived in many areas in London but landed in the east end, Argyle area and love it! I'm so glad that you love our neighbourhood as much as I do!
The worst part of Argyle is Hilton Ave. and Hilton Place.
community center? At argyle? An arena?
The community center is where East Lions Park is on Wavell st. There's no more outdoor public pools there. Argyle arena is also on Wavell st, but is east of Clarke Rd.
Is north london newer than east or south london? Just wondering. Thanks
That is a difficult question to answer in the way that you have phased it. There are newer and older homes in all these areas. Maybe it would help for you to tell me what you were trying to figure out.
@@homesforlifelondon I'm trying to find out which part of london has the most new or newer houses and streets so me and my family move there in the future hopefully.... Just wondering thanks for the help
@@sm-bd1bz I'd say that the north has the most new construction followed by the south. Good question, by the way. =D
@@homesforlifelondon Good to know we want to buy a house there but in the future hopefully they don't go too high in prices tho
