I agree. I love the challenge to keep it going... but I just got another older but newer machine from my sister, so I may end up selling that one. That way, someone else can enjoy machine embroidery. It's still a great machine!

This video was only about the item. Every machine is different. There are many videos out there by others on how to do that. I guess I could do a separate video on just that someday, but in this video, I was only focused on getting acquainted with the pal3.

I totally agree. I'm more of an advanced sewer and machine embroiderer, so while this is good for some it was not for me. I hope they continue to improve it. They have a good start, but the design needs to keep improving,

Many times I do use fusible no show mesh, but when stitching is this dense I use medium weight cut away.

I'm glad you liked it. It's hard to take credit when the machine is so cool and the designs come from EL. But thank you. I got to get over that. It is tricky to do machine embroidery.

I just use my hands to roll it slowly. I have found that rolling it inwards seems to put less stress on the fabric than outwards.

I would say just go for it! We only live once, and you deserve to play. I was like that too, but take it slow. My tip would be that once you start embroidering, be patient and keep out of the embroidery field and let the machine do its job. I get impatient trying to clip threads and keep things smooth to pass time, and getting in the field more than one needs to be can be an accident waiting to happen... so be patient. I wish I was closer. I'd come help you and cheer you on. In the meantime, maybe you could ask around for someone who could help lift it from your house to your car just in case... a backup plan. Usually, when we do that, it brings us luck. Then, you will be set if anything were to happen.

And I'd clean the bobbin case area after big jobs or when using cotton threads. That will keep things running smooth, too.

I had a friend carry mine in and up the stairs to my sewing room. I just hate bothering people. But unfortunately that's what I'll need to do. I'm so glad for your channel!

Wow! Thank you so much. I'm glad they help. Actually, I just thought about those marks the machine makes to line up the rows the other day. I don't remove them, but if I was featuring the stitching on the back, then I might try. But, I don't think most people will even notice. Mostly, we will just know. And, I think the mark that looks like lightning is the icon that takes you back to the connecting point. I'll review that again.

You mentioned you wish you had more edge to edge designs on your Solaris.. Designs by juju, is having a sale 75% off their whole website. I have used some of their embroidery designs, with great results.. but never have used the edge to edge yet.. I just bought some this week.. hoping to try them in the future..

I had hoped they would add to the 10 machine guided design inside the solaris, but they didn't. The new radiance machine has more..i doubt they upgrade the solaris any more. I'm getting closer to feeling more confident doing E2E without machine guided instructing..i will try that soon. @ruthh1776

Yes, I understand. I'm using a very old laptop. For some of the cards, I use a card reader. That seems to work well, but like you, when the laptop with old xp dies, I won't be able to use the customizer. Then it's just cards and regular sewing. I will use my other machine for transferring designs most of the time to save time.

They are online and have a website. Just be sure to get the one that works with your machine. If that's the same ad mine, then find the babylock one.

@ruthh1776 thanks. It's so funny that it is in my nature to be quiet, and somehow, this gabbing that I do during the video comes easier. I guess I'm used to talking to myself... but really, I'm not because some are listening. That's really nice to know.

@ruthh1776 I do have an old table in my basement that I use to lay out the sandwich before I quilt the piece. Hey, this is my 3rd quilt, and I've done a couple of other edge to edge projects. Practice really helps it go into my brain. We all need that to get confidence, that's for sure.
