Also you can fast things like TV and social media. I've done that. Where all I used my phone for was checking the weather calls banking etc and unless it was a sermon or my Bible app I didn't do it. No games no Facebook etc. Great way to cut out all distractions.

I used to feel like fasting was like a hunger strike to get God to do something. Like "ok God I'm serious about this..I'm not eating until you do something." So I never did it unless for health reasons. I do it for health still but now I will do it for both.
