I bought a Eureka model 502 vacuum at E. J. Korvettes in 1975. I've used it every week till last year when the motor died. I had the motor replaced and it works as well as ever. Great for pickin' up cat litter. Had to have it restored. My only vacuum for forty five years. No shit, it's a great vacuum. Fuhgeddaboudit.

I have a similar model at home that I still use regularly. The style H bag used to be the most common type but is now difficult to find except at a vacuum cleaner store or online. Nice trash find there 👍

For those who wonder why do most school buses start off in 2nd rather than 1st is that they come with what is called a "Compound" transmission. A compound box is where the 1st gear is reserved for only steep hills and ice. On trucks it also comes in handy for driving on parking lots since the speed is set way low. You only can get no faster than 5 miles an hour in 1st. That low speed is why they often call it the granny gear. But on trucks, that gear is classified as a deep under gear. If you have 4 possible speeds, and you have a deep under in 1st, you only have three of them that are usable on the highway. If you have 5 possible forward speeds, and a deep under in 1st, then you have 3 or 4 that are truly usable on the highway since on a 5-speed, 2nd is a regular under gear while 3rd, 4th, and 5th are direct. I think about 1984 or 1985 was when they started putting progressive transmissions in school buses. A progressive box is where you have a direct in 1st. Not deep under and on a 4-speed progressive box, all 4 speeds are usable. Over the Road buses like the old Greyhound buses have progressive boxes rather than compound boxes.

New Flyer buses make a similar sound if not the same... Although they have worked with GM in the past (along with Ford and Freightliner) so it's nothing special really

I agree with PennybagDarrell! The old Beetles and aircooled VWs had a distinguishing little whistle from the exhaust. My first car was a '68 Beetle and my brother's first was a '72 Ghia. My mom loved that she could hear the whistle of our exhaust as we drove to and from.

Did you remove both muffler and cat? Do you get much of a drone inside the car?

No definitely wasn't a fuel delivery issue, my maf had been replaced in that time period, and it was still making the sound, it's the clutch in the starter not releasing. it drags and causes the sound. The dust build up in the clutch causes the sticking.

i would certainly hope that it has vtec
