Thank you so much. I am a tutor and I work with kids that have dyslexia and dysgraphia. I’ve learned that the phonetic way is the best way to teach them and with phonetic blends and rules. If it doesn’t make sense to them, they have a hard time remembering. Thank you so much for offering it for free ❤❤❤❤ subscribing now !!
Thank you for sharing! What do you use now?
What kind of spines didn’t you get for your binding? Do you have a link? Thanks!
@@leticiabailey2107 a.co/d/40OvfhS Proclick binding spines. I have ordered this size as well as the smaller size and prefer the spines that hold 90 pages. I hope that helps!
This is INCREDIBLY helpful. Does Number Stories Book 2 cover shapes? It doesn’t look like it. If not, what did you do instead? Also, did Book 2 provide enough calendar practice? Thank you!
@@ShawnaDawn06 I don’t think shapes are covered. I like to use Jack Hartmann videos on TH-cam for shapes along with puzzles and picture books to go over shapes. I believe calendars are touched on but I found that my children needed daily practice with the calendar. I printed a sheet from TPT that we used every day along with calendar songs. The book Sing a Song of Seasons is a fun way to go over the date as well.
@@helloharrishomeschool9554 This is VERY helpful. Thank you!!!
Hello again, can you tell me how you printed out the Under the Home lesson plans that do not have a printable link? There are quite a few subjects without. I’m definitely a “print my own guides” kind of gal!
We are in a similar boat with readers. Did this phonics program from Under the Home continue to work for you? I am about to start Alpha Phonics with my youngest.
@@ashleymurphy4813 i really loved the beginning of it. As we progressed my child needed something different. It is a solid program, as is alpha phonics. I love them. But it simply didn’t mesh with this child. We are actually using Treasure Hunt reading which is also free and it has gone SO MUCH better with this child. It has a video component, a free printable pdf workbook, and includes games in it that he enjoys. He is now actually reading and progressing. I hope to make a video about it in the near future.
@@helloharrishomeschool9554 oh funny my daughter couldn’t stand Treasure Hunt Reading 🙈
@@ashleymurphy4813 I think my oldest would have hated it as well! I love that there is a variety of free reading resources
Hi! Are you still using this?
@@ashleymurphy4813 we are still using the composer study and artist studies this year very slowly. I think we are planning on adding Shakespeare and poetry in the second half of the year 😊
Thank you! Can you tell me- Did you print the lesson guides somehow? Only half of the subjects have printable lesson guides from what I’m seeing but you had mentioned in your video that it was tricky, but you did figure it out, correct?
This was exactly what I needed! I found WEH recently and absolutely love her philosophies! I have wanted to use her resources, but wasn’t sure how to put that together into a “curriculum” of my own or what that would look like. Thank you so much for this great video & what you shared!
How did you handle the lessons on contractions? Did you do them or skip them? It seems odd to put those in. I don't know whether to skip those lessons and come back later or what. Any suggestions?
@@birdybirdy7737 I did the lesson but didn’t linger on it. Then as contractions came up in real life, read alouds, etc I’d just point them out and briefly go over them again. Eventually it stuck 😊
@@helloharrishomeschool9554 Thanks so much for your reply! That's what I plan to do. I found some videos of Samuel Blumenfeld going through the lessons in Alpha Phonics. Those can be found on Camp Constitution on TH-cam. Just thought I'd share in case anyone is interested in the author's idea of how the lessons should go. There are also Little Companion Readers and a workbook available on Amazon written by a different person but I believe she was affiliated with Alpha Phonics when Blumenfeld was still alive. HTH!
Hoping you are well. We haven't heard or seen anything from you for a very long time.
@@berrypatch5583 we are well thank you! Life with baby number 4 has been very busy. I hope to come back to TH-cam this school year 😊
Do you use a certain printing company?
Is there answer keys?
@@danahall1282 i believe there are answer keys for the Wentworth arithmetic series. But not for number stories or first year in numbers
Is there any more free math (like this) for other grades?
@@danahall1282 Wentworth arithmetic goes above what I have printed out here. This blog post by sherry Hayes talks more about them 😊 momdelights.com/index.php/2022/04/25/free-complete-math-curriculum/
So I decided to go with wentworth-Smith math this summer I think 🤔 😅, trying to decide bw simply charlotte mason arithmetic or eventually change to Strayer-Upton. Anyways, I wanted to know if you had any tips or advice with Wentworth-Smith math?
Great ideas with the magnetic letters. I just ordered some! Thank you for sharing the free Alpha-Phonics pdf and lesson ideas!
So the last book is just for boys? Is there something similar for girls?
I believe the girl version is called polished cornerstones. It is on my list to purchase for my little girl in a year or so 😊
Thank you for sharing! How long did it take to get through the Alpha Phonics book? And what age did you start Alpha Phonics with your kid(s)
I've heard of first year in numbers and want to try it but i wanted to ask how it was teaching it without step by step instruction lol 😆 especially when it gets to bigger numbers and multiplication??
First year in numbers is pretty simple, it’s a lot of basic math facts and simple multiplication. I bet you’ll do great with first year in numbers. I didn’t struggle teaching that one so much. My oldest is currently in Wentworth arithmetic and it’s been so long since I’ve learned all my times tables that I’m relearning right along side him! I think Its really doable. Just try to remember that it’s okay to go at their pace and add in additional practice or support if you need it ❤️
@helloharrishomeschool9554 thank you so much!
Excellent information. Thank you so much.
Excellent idea. Thanks
5:12 5:22 what? that is cursing!

@@helloharrishomeschool9554 yes! i hate that! did you see the timestamps in my comment? whoever made this need to censor it!
I took a black marker and marked out a few words in the book 😉
@@berrypatch5583 good idea!
Thank you for the PDF file, but does it come with the teachers guide included?
If you go to the link in the description about the reading clinic at donpotter.net there is a link to the teachers guide.
7:56 ???
I just found this video is so helpful, and easy to follow and appropriate for mothers. We have so many things to do and i think is much better to write it down. Thank you for sharing this it’s what I needed to see.
I’m glad you made a video. I’ve been watching minimalist bujo journal videos which happen to be made mostly by men. They weren’t helpful because they don’t have as much to track as moms.
I’m so glad this could be helpful 😊
Where did you get the chart shown at 4:49?
I cannot find the exact one. I found it in the Well Educated Heart Facebook group in their files. This one is similar lookaside.fbsbx.com/file/WEH%20Rotation.pdf?token=AWz30Y9m1hdI_NrYGnSsY1Wmi0UzAhuYbUeA44i2m3vaeHSl9j_k-SbRp7Ei0vK6RIvlqFfG9x2PO8IpJ8pID2ErjLDEuHpBjv4LB8uLkvWmF05NFoC5qYlv4TzQpFpm_5UMsBgtZUfw3TmOtaZVZouZ3XTQ2A0FFHH52odwONRWNiaVgQ_OqcJP_YQxu1aC8H5KfdfijpyhGGqg-rzoiELdqCKQ6qVVxfWo18ZjIUF3eNq82JwcH_yzqRwBCgijvZM
Do you have a link for the binding you use? Also I’m curious have you ever considered a gentle feast? I have been looking into it because it seems easier for larger families and less prep work.
Here is the link for the proclick binding machine a.co/d/1D85QLR I have not used a gentle feast. I have heard good things about it but I love the flexibility of using under the home and resources from libraries of Hope.
Are you still using this?
I do still use this but I use more of a loop schedule. This year was a new baby year so we have slowed down. I still love the curriculum 😊
I love this!!!! My babies love to hear me read aloud so this is perfect!!!
DO you know if there is a link to the phonogram cards that isn't cursive?
If you click the link in the description under more articles there are more links to phonogram cards and a whole host of other resources. It should be on Don Potters website.
How the heck did you print it out I am so confused on 5th grade American history when i click on the pDF its like a work book its not the actual lessons??? Help -_-
The book they are using is on internet archive for free. When I look on my phone there is a little icon that looks like a box with an arrow next to the button to print the workbook. When you click that it takes you to the internet archive link. You can scroll down on that page and there are lots of download options, including a pdf option. You can print the book from internet archive and then the 5th grade weekly checklist can help you see what chapters you should be doing each week. The workbook may also say in it what chapter to be reading. I hope that helps!
thank you for these suggestions i am going to start the three r's book myself . very helpful hope you are doing well
Is it possible if you please could post the link for the place value book? thank you in advance
I can’t for the life of me find the link for that book. I’m so sorry. But there are similar pages on teachers pay teachers If you search place value
thank you so much! love the content gave me a good flip through of the books

Hello Great ideas but I can't access your blog.
Thank you for letting me know! I fixed the problem and all links should work now 😊
You're awesome! Thank you! Subscribed!
Where do you think it starts covering second grade stuff? I don't want to start at the begining, since it will be to easy for my 1st grader.
I felt like I was looking out my own window! Are u in the Northeast too? Lol 🤔
Thanks for posting! I homeschool 7 children but im also a student for sure..i love to learn, read, research, and explore so discovering WEH is exciting and a blessing for me. Im still watching the intro videos...there's so many its a bit overwhelming!
It is a bit overwhelming but it’s so beautiful and encouraging. It’s a fun journey to be in that’s for sure! I hope it blessed you 😊
Thank you! I love the creativity you used to personalize the program. You can squeeze alot from these lessons is what you have shown. 👍
hi, thanks for sharing how you do the lessons. if your child was able to read the lesson then you would continue next lessons or would you also review before starting next lesson. how do I make my child fluent, she is able to read 3 letters
If the child easily read the previous lesson I move on, if they finished it but there were some struggles I will try to review by doing Flashcards or using magnets or having them wrote a few of the words from before. Then I will move to the next lesson if they did well.
I have all these for my 3rd grader as well! I’m trying to find a good schedule to use them all without feeling overloaded. Would love to know when you use them :)
I have been picking two language arts components a day and the rotating through them. Some days we may read from the McGuffey reader and do a grammar lesson and other days we may do PLL and cursive. I don’t have a strict schedule. If we don’t finish a lesson one day we’ll do it the next and then move on to a different language arts piece the next day. And then math, independent reading, and Bible are every day. I hope that helps 🙂
Thank you for this !!!
With my daughter we have tried Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons and then we went to Alpha Phonics. She got burnt out on both of those. We then found the two part book series Reading Without Tears by Favell Lee Mortimer. It's a very laid back approach and we are able to do it 5 days a week without hardly any complaint :) I read somewhere that it was used by Winston Churchill when he was a child.
I will definitely keep this in mind if we hit a wall with our current choice! Thank you!
I have all of those Language Arts materials except the reading journal. I haven't used them all yet though. My kid is also having a hard time with clocks so I'll look into the Math Mammoth book.
I learnt about WEH through your videos, ive touched on the rotation gently but planning to dive in properly from January. Love your videos.
That’s so exciting, WEH is such a fun adventure ❤️
I love this. Didn't know of this free vintage curriculum. I went to your other videos and it looks wonderful! Thank you for sharing! 💗☺️

Glad you like them!
Thanks for sharing about UTH. I’m using 1st grade science and geography. I planned to use the math but he was just not getting it and disliked it. Move on to Number stories and he loves it.
