What’s a step UP from that drum pad? Also , I’d like to have something that has a cross tick sound not just a rim shot
@@TjEdwardz a step up from this is probably some Alesis $400 electric kit with a mesh snare head.
Great playing and great vid ❤
The production value is unreal. 😮😊Great work
@@estebanisswimming I appreciate that!
I was going back and forth contemplating what I should get to scratch my drum itch. Not a lot of space or time on my hands frankly with a toddler and full time job. I was looking for something quiet and portable that I can even get out of the house with for a break. Instead of shelling out almost $900 for something like a roland octapad (before anything else like bass drum trigger, stand, etc), I decided to go this route. I'm going to give these a shot and use them to trigger a VST like EZ Drummer for more of a pro-sound and play along with some drumless backing tracks of my favorites. If I stick with the hobby, maybe in the future I will opt for something more expensive like Roland.
these Yamaha portable kits keep getting better, i can see a lot of practicality and future for them 👍
hi, thanks for the review,,,anyways...can it switch to lefty settings?
@@uncletommovies4362 you can customize the samples for each pad, so it would be a little bit of a manual process. There’s no setting to mirror each kit.
Can this be used with headphones so that the neighbors are not disturbed? I have neighbors who are bit too sensitive to sounds 😅
@@MaddyIndia you can definitely can use headphones, though striking the pads can still be fairly loud. I think this is generally fine for an apartment or shared wall.
@michaelwomackmusic ok thank you! I'll look in to this then.
Great review by the way!
Do you think i could use Alesis Dm6 Hi-hat and drum kick pedals?
@@Fruzzio1 if it connects via 1/4 inch input, I’d expect it to work, but I can’t say for sure.
Thanks for the video. I just bought this and will be using it to start learning drums. Can't wait to see your new video using this drum kit. Thank you very much!
@@kennyritchiebarus6974 thanks for watching and have fun!
Bought one, with HH65 and KU100 pedals, total beginner. It is still loud, when hitting it and you'll need a midi to usb adapter cable to connect it to a pc.
omg the perfect video - no unnecessary introduction, straight to business, good quality, a rare sight!
Звучит довольно красиво
Would this make a good start kit for my 6 y/o son?
@@PhoTo-so3tw Most definitely! My 2 year old likes to play on it from time to time!
Thank youn
Nice demonstration, thanks. I just got a black thr30ii last week and was wondering if the wireless dongle was worth it. I keep reading bad reviews saying it doesn’t stay charged or it cuts in and out a lot. Not sure if there is user error involved or what but sometimes that’s the case. Another complaint I’ve read is that the battery 🔋 only lasts about a year and then will no longer hold a charge. In your experience with it have you had any of those issues? It’s not like it’s crazy expensive so I’m not too worried about it. It’s just nice to hear opinions from people that actually use or have used the product. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the video. 👍🏻
@@brianrollins7275 I’ve had a mostly good experience with the line 6 transmitter. I’ve noticed a weird behavior that it will drain the transmitter battery if you leave it in the quarter inch slot of the amp (where it charges) for many days without during on the amp. Other than that I think it’s worth getting with the amp. I’ve also had this longer than a year. Thanks for watching!
Hi Mike, I have this DD75 and have been feeling the same about the difficulties to get real feeling about the kick with the stock pedal eventhough I am using KU100 kick pedal. I indeed, have a plan to get this KP65 and found this video that convinced me this is the right thing to do, thanks! However, I also have a thought that we can use separate electric hi hat to make it even better while keeping this drum in a compact form. I think we just need to make a parallel connection of the red & black wires underneath the DD75 hihat pad to a female 3.5" phone jack so it serves as a input for external hihat like Yamaha RHH135. Since the RHH135 has two ports, ie., hihat and hihat controller, I think hihat would go that new female jack, and the controller goes to the original hihat controller on the back of DD75. Do you think we can do this? or have you ever known someone who made modifications in this direction?
@@atoshdovvo7035 I haven’t done this, but I expect it should be possible.
I'll let u know after I give it a try
Is there much difference between dd65 and dd75 ?
@@meowboyvn2044 there’s specifics here faq.yamaha.com/usa/s/article/U0009522 I’m personally not familiar with the dd65.
Great bro😊
You are a drum artist my friend. Very inspiring beats!
@@partypao 🙏I appreciate it. Thanks for watching!
Incredible!
May I ask if anyone here has experienced audio quality issues when connecting to external speakers with the Yamaha DD75? When I use high-power speakers, the sound becomes distorted, but with medium or low-power speakers, the sound is full and clear.
I’m 2 yrs late here, but what port does the kick tower work with? The original button kick port or Aux In? ✌️
@@Mo_Ketchups It works with the original "kick" quarter inch input.
Proubly stupid question could you use a double bass pedal with this?
@@mattreilley6957 I havent tried, but I'm pretty sure it will fit on this kick tower!
I had no idea this was a thing, I'm so happy!! I'll start being financially responsible tomorrow....
Very soothing music 🎉
Bruh the fact that i still can't afford this😭😭 Things like 12k in my countries currency💀
Hello, I was hoping you could help me with a doubt I have with this kit. I had the DD65 and for some reason the Hihat pedal was not transmitting midi cc, do you know if the hihat pedal the DD75 transmits midi signal when pressed/depressed?
My phone speaker is so, so awful.
So atmospheric! can you tell me how much did it cost you?
@@pessimistickris2718 thanks! This is the Yamaha GL1 Guitalele. I got it as a birthday present many years ago, but you can pick one up for around $100.
Been playing my whole life. I'm thinking of getting one to just leave in the car. So many times I'm at something and someone pulls out a guitar. I imagine this would be more fun than playing on chairs or tables 😂
This would be great for that!
is the kick tower silent? i've found the one with the alesis nitro max pretty noisy and i want one more quiet
The kick tower is not silent. It will be easy for others to hear.
Thanks dude! I'm looking for a quiet way to practice at home after my kids are asleep, and I need the setup and breakdown to be easy. Going to try this combo!
I have one and just do not want to part with it. Got it new from Amazon for about $88, and though the 17" scale is a tight one, it makes this 70 year old guitar hack happy when I play it, and I play mostly bluesy stuff, and even use a slide on it.
I'm guessing it's not great for bass?
I think it sounds fine for bass. Probably wouldn't be my first choice if you're looking for a bass amp.
@@michaelwomackmusic Ah okay. Thank you
CPD 1000 drum kit is better than all of them!!
I just turned 40 and decided I want to learn. However, I neighbors and no space. I think this will be a great starter kit.
I just turned 60 and I want to learn too.
Sounds like the start of Dear Prudence by The Beatles.
Question do you have it hooked up to a separate speaker because it sounds awesome nice bass. Thanks in advance. If so what speaker or speakers
I hve this one too.. btw , what mic did u use sir?
Shure sm57!
Thx u, what string was that?
La Bella GL100 Guitalele Rectified Nylon!
Thank you for playing the tabla on it
being able to play wirelessly seems great. does it come with latency though ?
I don't notice any latency when I play.
Hi is this touch sensitive?
I'm impressed by the tone you came up with, I can't set anything that good. 😮Would you mind sharing your tool presets with me?
How number preset you snare bro.. I like that sound
This is kit preset #22!
Thanks man... GBU
😍😍😍 great !!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I loved it
Would the kick tower work as a double pedal?
It should work with a double kick pedal.
Thanks for the video. Is it worth buying a used one?
If it's in good condition for a reasonable price, then sure!
Is the sound coming from the drum dd-75 original presets only? Or you used a MIDI?
Yes, these are original dd75 kits here. I'm recording using a quarter inch output jack.
Loved it
Thanks Michael, very useful - am looking for confirmation that this DD75 is what I need to scratch my drum itch.
It should do the trick!
@@michaelwomackmusic got to start somewhere! 🤣
Many thanks. Useful.
