Original paint on collector cars are worth more. Anything unoriginal lowers the value so for you to restore the paint without having to remove anything original would mean more money for the owner of the vehicle. The detail should cost more than the repaint.

10k is considered a cheap paint job on an older vehicle. The issue isn’t painting it’s metal/body work that costs so much.
