Not 'insane way too low' in any repsect. I've driven that directly behind Coningsby many times (almost a 2 mile straight going theough New York and Boston if anyone wants to check). I was at Coningsby 88-90…best feeling ever was being sat in my little mini metro at the threshold with the Tornado F3s taking off or landing. The resonance though the car was immense! Will never forget that feeling.

That many aircraft all at once probably indicates they have just returned from deployment on the carrier (HMS QUEEN ELIZABETH?). The Air Wing departs the ship while they are way out at sea before returning to port. It is not practical to try to take off from a stationary deck as the head wind would be in the wrong direction and inadequate and there is the danger of trying to do it in a port setting. That also applies to the helicopters!! I used to do the wind calculations for launching and recovering the Lynx on HMS Minerva.

I've loved planes since I was a kid.......and I also get the buzz from seeing low flying....... But..... What happens if one of these planes suffered a malfunction on approach (or takeoff).....those directly under the flightpath could, could possibly be injured or killed ?. By all means enjoy plane spotting.......but please please please think about safety first too.

That was after the mock dogfight with the Lakenheath F-15's. All the Typhoons were shot down although they did claim one Eagle.

Try the West Beach at Lossiemouth. Just great flying.
