    Solid waltz steps but is it possible to have found two people who look as disinterested in dancing than these two?

    Food for thought. The closing at the end of the Tango is a 2 count draw or slow count. In styling concept the movement of the close should continue into the next Walk without a stop.

    Something to consider. In social partnership dancing there are essentially two categories, Rhythm and Smooth. Within those two categories there are six primary Movements and four Elements that are the structural foundation for 95% of the leadable patterns in social Partnership dancing. The Movements consist of Walks, Chasses, Hip Roll, Brakes, Syncopated Chasses, and Rocks. The elements consist of Frame, Momentum Control, Turning, and Styling driven by the music. Essentially that’s all there is that make up the hundreds of patterns that can be done in social partnership dancing. The underlying truth is if you master this 6/4 combo of Movements and Elements there are no leadable patterns that you couldn’t do with any partner. The two categories are separated by one primary movement called Hip Roll. Rhythm has it, and Smooth does not. What is a Rock step in Smooth dancing as in Foxtrot or Tango is a full body weight change. In Rhythm dancing, what is sometimes called a Rock step, should actually be called a Break step and occurs with a partial delayed weight change initiated by the placing of the foot and then the rolling of the hips. Unfortunately, the inconsistency of the description of this Movement between Rocks and Breaks is a problem that was created long ago within the original Arthur Murray syllabus which was handed down to them from the Castles who taught Arthur to dance. In all of AM’s Latin dancing, syllabus the movement of two steps in opposite directions initiated by the hips was called a break. That same movement in Swing was called a rock. In actuality they are both the same in Latin dances and Swing they have just been misnamed in Swing. Rocks are typically a smooth dance movement and performed in a closed dance position. Another movement in Rhythm Dance that is often misunderstood is the Syncopated Chasse, a.k.a. triple step. This is a movement that has a structure of three way changes in two beats of music. Instead of what one might think that those three steps are the same, in reality the first two steps are a half beat each worth of musical time and the third step is a whole beat. In international cha-cha, which is often referred to as the cha-cha Cha, the tempo is slow enough to treat those three steps equally allowing for a full hip roll on each step. In Latin dancing where the tempo is a bit faster there is no available time to swing the hips back-and-forth hence the first 2 half beat steps have the hip following the direction of the movement with the hip finally coming through on the whole second beat. A syncopated Chasse in reality is two 1/2 step Chasse, with a Hip Roll at the end on the third step.

    Love it! Very explicit with instructions. I learned years ago for a Beautillion and wanted to relearn and practice for my son's wedding. I am elated that I found 180 Foxtrot. Each step was clearly shown and how to implement. Thank you for a Fantastic Job! I am practicing away!!!!

      @brendajames3308 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lol. It was complete because they were only showing how to do each step from man, woman and together. Nothing more. You can do this with what they have shown. Enjoy. I am!!!!

      @@brendajames3308 - well, I’d have to say you are likely speaking from an experienced foxtrot dancers view. Clearly you can see they given “all the steps” However as a beginner, I see steps and an incomplete picture. So, I’d have to stick w my personal summary given my level of experience… ie: good video / incomplete I’m certain though when I reach your level of proficiency, I’ll look back and say,” well, they gave everything you need …” 😉 Keep on dancin’ , Brenda :)

      I guess it does help being familiar with the dance already and I’m sure you will perfect every move. Find a video with the dance to music, practice the basic step to your satisfaction then add the next step. Find music that you love to do the foxtrot. Enjoy!
