Electric utilities are phasing out coal fired power plants because they no longer make economic sense and that doesn't even include the environmental damage mines cause and the adverse health effects to miners and all the rest of us from using coal in power plants. For a while yet, we'll need coal for steel making, but even that will be phased out when new steel making processes come on line that don't need coke.

Blows me away that we have hundreds of years of coal supply, and yet he wants to throw that away so we would be at the mercy of our enemies….. Renewables are OK, but not a reliable power source as the country found out, and then coal energy was there to pick up the slack….. He needs to lead the fight to insure our power grid is not able to be hacked, and not do away with the only reliable power source we have….

Kress 240t Coal hauler. Bottom dump. Has a 3516 Cat diesel, 2100hp. Steer axle is independent, has dual wheels per side, I guess its more maneuvrable and has a better load-weight ratio? Maybe they're using draglines to uncover the coal seam then don't have to move lots of overburden around in haul trucks; or maybe these are just for the coal and they use regular haul trucks for the spoil.

@@JT-zl8yp If it was cheaper they'd be using it, unlike how you apply your brain. The Coal Mine isn't static and is in constant relocation to a new seem. Conveyors use very expensive, not readily available parts that need special foundries to manufacture, almost always over seas which would mean weeks of down time. Remember they said 7 miles to the power plant. A hand full of trucks with readily available parts enures the coal continues to get deliver even if two trucks go down. Do you understand now? It's quite elementary.

@@trueelectsupremea.m.mosttr4786 A conveyor belt does not need human drivers like in a truck...are you dumb ? Labour shortage and costs are high.. There is no constant relocation to a new seam...even if the mining location moves, dump trucks move coal to the conveyor belt...also conveyor belt is one way...but empty trucks have to go back to the mine to load up and you have to pay the driver while he is driving an empty truck...using diesel trucks to tranport coal is primitive..did you understand now? also the roads become full of potholes if heavy trucks drive 24x7 on it

@@JT-zl8yp I have three businesses, one of them is in Anthracite Region in both mining operations and selling the equipment. A simple heavy forged sprocket is $500,000 with a 2 year lead time. That's just one conveyor belt component. So what do you do for two years while you wait? Second you clearly don't comprehend the scale and size of the mine or equipment used. Call some part and equipment suppliers up, find out what the cost and lead times are asshole before assuming your anymore intelligent then the highly paid engineers at these other companies or my own company for that matter. If was cheaper, it would be employed. Plus you should be happy there's people working jobs. But you're to fucking selfish and focused on being right to think outside the box.

She obviously does not own the mineral rights . Instead of complaining and calling successful businesses employing 400 people a thief just go get the lease and sub lease it to them.. She is being rewarded on her effort which is zero. You are being rewarded on your effort which is zero. I have never heard of anyone buying a property without mineral rights crying they are not getting paid for something they dont own. Instead of being like every tom dick and harry whining someone wont give you free money, go lease a coal lease you find and sub lease it to them and make 10's of millions. The internet gives you the same information they have they are just picking up the phone and creating opportunities and you are sitting home crying about your daughter not getting money from a rain cloud. That's why there is a gap in your income. mainly because your mindset. Change your victim based mindset and change your destiny.
