It’s so sad tbh. The game was awesome- the friends I made are lifelong friends. Learned some incredibly valuable lessons and got to continue loving horses even when I couldn’t be around them. But the entire community as a whole was so severely unhealthy, cliquish. It makes me feel so nostalgic seeing videos of it- there’s never gonna be a game like it. If I could buy a hard copy I would. I respect Alex and Kuri and their ability to revive it. But I really wish it would be done more responsibly- focusing on the game itself and maintaining some professionalism. I would never in a million years want to take their job on. Mad respect for their time and drive to work on it. Couldn’t do it. So I hope they’re well. But it does grieve me the way things have been lately. The competitiveness spread like a weird disease. People became harsher, taking losses more personally. So many of us were chronically online avoiding our problems- which resulted in a ton of unhealthy matches, codependency, and unrealistic expectations. Ultimately, that’s why I left. It was consuming my real life. Now I provide equine therapy with real horses for folks who need help. While I loved running a guild I naively let it destroy me. Many of my old guild mates are still part of my life. Many aren’t. We never disbanded in the end but I am sure most of the slots are empty now. Nothing changes the fact that the experience was a huge turning point in my life. Suffering leads us to better ourselves- and I did. Just as I took on the challenges of the game, I lead teams now in real life tackling problems with horses, finding solutions, and growing ever onward. AO is a bittersweet place- it exists somewhere in my heart like a distant dream. Thankful I came across it, wish I hadn’t put so much life into it, but glad I survived and learned to be a better human and a better horseman. I hope someday they provide it with a global re-release on consoles. Obviously from the original company. But that’s a fever dream lol

okay well now this made me cry. i finally got a new gaming notebook today and got so excited to play again. no wonder it didnt work as i tried to download it, like i retry it since 4 hours by now and i didnt understood why it wont work

i miss ao so bad as well i hope he will bring it back by the end of this month at least

I have faith that it will be up again. And when it does. Hopefully we all take the time to be more appreciative of what we have and be kinder to one another as we share this space. So many good memories

I hope it comes back. I miss the grind and the race and the bad breeding and getting dragon repeatedly. I I was crushed when i cannot play.

They could just...make a new sso but like the old one. The old one was mysterious, adventurous, kind of more alive, now it's so...artificial. Then the music, the quests...now it's just horses... Like yeah, they're pretty, but the old ones had their charm. I remember how when you bought a new horse, the players somehow took a liking to you and chased you. They literally stalked you because of it. For example, I remember the uproar over Lusitanos:D And how everyone was like...oooh, when I ride around with Spirit. I haven't played sso for a long time, sometimes I'll check what's new...but I don't enjoy it that much anymore.
