Indee mr salvari i saw u when u took over. It was when joe gevara was a scout mastre at union. I was a boys scout from 1987 to 1996 1996 was my act of duty has a boyscout. Men igave all of my life to troop 58 if i had a wish i woloud wish to be a boyscout all ovev againg

i was ther when mr walter salvari took over troop 68 in the mid 90 or 89 think cuzz i was 10 yr and that scout mastre that was runing troop 58 that time was mr joe gevarra men got good recuerdos i wish to be a kid aging and do all the fun stuff that they do

Indeed, our Unit has been chartered to Union Avenue Elementary School since 1949. At least according to available records, limited as they are, the pack/ troop has been active with a good degree of activity since that year. I became Scoutmaster in 1988. The Troop has kept it's 58 numeration for quite a long time now. There are rumors that Scouting was present even earlier at Union, but records are non-existent. We consider 58 to be a lucky number for us.

Troop numbers can be assigned several ways. The earliest units were numbered by order of foundation and once a sponsor had a troop, future ones often inherited the number as would other units like a cub pack or explorer post. Later local councils began assigning numbers to new units by District.

Thank you for posting these, my 11 year just got his 1st bugle and will be learning for the bugle merit badge.

I was a member of Troop 58 one of the few inner city scout troops. I remember marching though out the neighborhood and people would stop what we were doing at stare at us.

i randomly put "union avenue elementary school" cause its the school i graduated from in 04 fith grade! and i got all of these videos bringing back memories!!!! i miss mr Salvary! i was a boy-scout for the last year of elementary school!

also our bs meeting is on fri. night every week at night
