I was stationed @Smith Kaserne B Co. 9th Engineers 89-91. Missed those times. Not the alerts and FTXs
Nice interesting🇩🇪🇨🇦👍
I was in the 1961
I've seen all of this in the 1970's while stationed in Aburg. Scary stuff, lots of History there. I hope that my Sacrifices helped the German people.
Was there is the late 78-79 9th Engr Bn. Played music in a band before service, brought several of the band's 45's "Champagne, Cocaine and West of the Sunset on the B side. Put them in several bars around A-Burg. One I remember was owned by a jew from Israel. Nicest guy. Can't remember the name of the bar. Drank alot of Hey Lands bier though.
Old HQ bldg 9th engr bn. Was there 74'-77'
Man, I even saw myself, car, First Generation M1 Abrams tank, barracks and married quarters in this video.
Bleibt einfach in Amerika.
I'm glad to see somebody "loved" Pioneer Caserne. I was there from 64 to 65. It was a then a typical army sh*thole.
I was stationed there for 7 months in 1981, then I was sent to Downs Barracks in Fulda.
I realy miss our us girls and boys! Hanau is missing you
I was stationed in Hanau for 5 years. It was okay, however, as far as I'm concerned it was no match for its sister town about 30 minutes down the road better known as Aschaffenburg.
Stationed there all of 1971. Damn that German beer was good.Dollar a gram Hashish too. Now i get on Google Earth, The windows are broken, I thought the place would make good apts for people ,i guess not. HQ Redeye Gunner. Cottonbalers. Wonder what they did with that frickin bale of cotton?
I was in A-Burg April 1982 through October 1984, Delta Co 3rd Med BN Ambulance Platoon. Out of the 18 months I spend 1/2 of it in the field, Graf, Wilflecken, Vilsek and 2 months straight with the 4th and 64 when they were switching to the M1 Abrams. Thanks for letting DOC shoot and drive the M-1. I DEROsed to the Fr Irwin and the OPFFOR for 1 year but my heart was always with 3rd ID and the best friends I ever had. Remember "Pizza Joe"?
I was stationed there with 149th Maint Co 95-98. I had some very good memories there. My kids enjoy Germany when we lived there at that time. I seen a lot of old buildings that once was my unit's barrack, the Battalion Head HQ and the other buildings surrounding my unit. Now it is all owned by the Germans with businesses, a firstaion, apartments and a car dealership that once was my company's motor pool.
Giving a shout our to my best friend Sandy (Sandra) Smith. We were Hanau Girls in the 1960's school years
Must have been so much fun. I was there 83-87

@@midnightrider715 I can't recall the name. I was there from Dec72 to July 74.
I'm not real sure on the last name, but he was from Ohio. I think he might have left in 1973. I came back in June 1974, had a lot of fun over there. Our company worked in Wolfgang, supply parts warehouse. I was in building #3 699th Maintenance Co.
I was stationed in Aschaffenburg 1974_1976 A/1/7 3rd inf. div. Graves Kasernes. SGT.L.B. Davis Ret.

Memories 1968-1971
Rainbow- and Starlight-Club at the Chemnitzer Street was my Favorite-Places in Past-Time. I was 16-17 Years old. Now is 60 Years ago! My First "Hamburger" eat in the Rainbow-Club!. Grreat-Times!
Thanks for this video, I was there as a kid 1974-1981, spent 2nd grade in the little schoolhouse on Graves Barracks by the back gate, 3rd-8th grades in the main school between the base chapel and the NCO club. When I was there, the first McDonald's opened across the street from the Hauptbahnhof, and a KFC opened up across the street from Jaeger Kaserne but became a bar before 1981. There were no Burger Kings, but they had just renovated the commissary to be double its old size by then. The Jaeger cafeteria got remodeled around 1980-81 into a burger stand, I missed the old cafeteria with its steam tables and the soda island in the middle. The dental clinic was upstairs, and the fellow who repaired pool tables had his workshop in the basement. btw when did they block off the main entrance on Wurzburgerstrasse? I saw that they put up a temporary wall, and put parking spots in the entrance during the '80s. WTF? So did everyone have to go in through the side gate near the motor pool? Anyway, a lot of memories, not only of the kasernes but of the town itself, the weekend markets near the Pink Castle, Schoental park, Fasanerie park, City Gallerie shopping mall...thanks again for the video...btw until I saw this video, I had no idea we had M60A2s on Ready Barracks, I thought they were all A1s :)
Stationed here 1981-1982 hq hq comp 1/7 3rd inf cotton bailers
Früher Hessen Bowl war geil. War leider nur paar mal im rodn gun club in Auheim. Schöne Zeit
Hq & Hq Co, 4.2 Mortar Plt Dec 1963 - Feb 1966 ready Kaserne.
I was a Cottonbaler, Graves Kas., Alpha 1/7th from Feb. 82 thru 88, I extended twice as A burg was a great garrison Town and I had no interest in serving back in the US after several soldiers had DEROsed to the states and actually transferred back, telling us the real Army was in Germany........hey, Who remembers macht nichts Charlie? Nice old guy would sell trinkets and stuff on the strasse? Bought my first souvenir from him. The River Fests, schwimbad ( swimming pool) .....'Heylands' Beer(sp?) We called it 'Headache' Beer lol. We'd pool our money and do the ole 'You fly, I buy' and one of us would taxi down and back to McDs across the street from the Bonhof.......Fantastic video , thank you very much....gotta admit when I saw the 1/7 HQ Graves sign at 2:33 I got misty, I was in Alpha co. and that sign was about 20 yards away if that, from the front of our barracks, the HQ being up the stairs to the right, saw that sign every formation for 6 years...... I remember A Burg and Germany very well and had the time of my life.I miss all you Aburg natives,...thank you for the memories, truly
Woooo this one of those endearing memories that hits hard! I still can't believe it's all LONG GONE!! :( You're forever in my best life! (♥ HANAU ♥... Pioneer Kaserne, Fliegerhorst, Gelnhausen, Buedigen 88-92)
